Handheld cameras are often preferred over standard video cameras when capturing videos. This is because they offer a certain amount of ease and mobility due to their smaller and lighter size. Building on this concept, a designer, Christopher Terella has come up with the cool idea of an ‘ultimate action cam.’
The camera is being called ‘E-Clips video camera’ and is termed an action cam simply because its design makes it very easy to carry about, not only in your hand but also when you are on the go. For instance, you can easily hitch up the camera to your bike if you wish to capture a video while biking. (more…)

Earlier this morning, we mulled over the possibility of a new iTunes 11 announcement, and it seems that the speculation was somewhat spot on the money, where iTunes was announced to come with a redesign. Apple touts to have 200 million iTunes cloud users, and on the back of that, the redesign should please the majority of them. After all, the new layout does seem to be easier on the eyes compared to its predecessor.
iTunes on desktop is on the receiving end of direct integration with iCloud. We do think that folks use iTunes on their computers not because they love to, but because there was not much choice if you wanted to dance to Apple’s tune. Having said that, the latest version of iTunes certainly makes the iTunes desktop experience a far more enjoyable one, at least according to what was revealed. Some folks might even throw allegations in Apple’s direction that this idea is a legacy of Zune’s software. What do you think?

Milk and honey, strawberries and cream, sugar and spice, husband and wife, iOS 6 and iPhone 5. They all jive together and dance best when synergized, and the same can be said about iOS 6, Apple’s latest version of their highly successful mobile operating system. Of course, we did see a teaser of iOS 6 at WWDC earlier this year, where we are led by the nose to discover the wonders of tighter Facebook integration in addition to a spanking new map application that lessens the dependency on Google Maps, Passbook support, and “Do Not Disturb” to boot. Well, the iOS 6 is now official where it was spotted running on the newly minted iPhone 5. Check out what else there is about iOS 6 in the extended post.

A woman?s purse is a treasure trove of information about her, her personality, likes, dislikes, the works. Well, you can also tell a bit about a person through his or her gadget(s), and the Everpurse might be of use here as it comes with an integrated pocket which allows you to stash away your handset while juicing it up. This means you would find it difficult to run out of juice on your travels, especially if you are a heavy smartphone users.
The Everpurse clutch?s built-in charging pocket has a docking mechanism that is compatible with most of the modern day handsets, where it is said to be able to charge two battery dead iPhones to 100% levels before requiring a trip to the power outlet itself. Wireless charging is also supported with the included white charging mat. This Kickstarter project will come in a trio of colors with a choice of either fabric or leather, retailing for $129 or $159, respectively, if it makes it to the market.

We have seen our fair share of Minecraft mods in the past that recreated different worlds, including the World of Warcraft, and it did somewhat revive a love for blocky graphics. Well, here we are with a game known as GunCraft that is not a mod for Minecraft, but rather, it is a full-fledged FPS offering that has its fair share of multiplayer maps that will incorporate the kind of aesthetics that can be found in Mojang?s Minecraft.
Right now, the Beta version of Guncraft remains as a free download, although the final game will cost you some dough. Folks who have faith and $10 to spare can place a pre-order, where they will also be treated to additional bonuses when creators John Getty and Alex Schlee are done working on the game. What do you think of GunCraft for those of you who have given the Beta a go? Do you think it will be able to make it in this cut-throat world of video gaming?

We have seen smart homes, smart cars, and smart windows; and many of us use smartphones these days, but what about a smart rubbish bin? The Netherlands will host a bunch of intelligent bins which will require you to present your ID before it accepts rubbish. Not only that, this intelligent robot bin will also inform municipal trucks that they need to be emptied. Just how many of these intelligent bins will be scattered across the Netherlands? We are looking at a cool 6,000 or so units, where green think tank Environmental Resource Management claimed that Gronigen, one of the cities involved in this project, will save £72,000 within the first year of operation while reducing its carbon footprint by 18%.
Just how do these intelligent bins work? An RFID reader is embedded in the lid, where it will open only when one presents a form of ID. The amount of rubbish will then be added to your final bill, although stuff disposed in the recycling pile would be free. I wonder whether some folks are willing to risk dropping non-recyclable stuff into the recycling pile to save on some money.
This is definitely a step up from the LCD-equipped bins in London and Kinect-powered trash can that catches rubbish as you throw it.
