Blackberry Bold sets smartphone hearts a-racing

Blackberry has pulled a smartphone seemingly out of nowhere, with the Blackberry Bold, (or the Blackberry 9000). So named because the screen was apparently identified as such by focus groups, it's a 480x320, 65,000 colour display. Connectivity wise, you're looking at HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and full GPS.

TV Messenger Arrives in Spain

For some time they comment on the early arrival in Spain of a new service called Microsoft TV Messenger, which allow access to the contents of MSN Video directly from Windows Live Messenger, adding the possibility of sharing with our contacts with them and see them while chat.

Because TV Messenger is now available for the Spanish public, and can access it with just add MessengerTV@live.com address as a contact and start a conversation with Bot (saying? Hello? Or any sentence that makes clear our presence ). If you live outside Spain can access the service by changing the locale of Internet Explorer. You can also use the same trick to access videos from other regions, because each country has at its disposal different contents (users of Great Britain may not see the same videos that Germany).

However, when assessing its main virtue Messenger TV ends up being his worst flaw. We are in front of a service that puts an overemphasis on the professional content (videos from MTV, Antena 3, Sony BMG, etc.) to finish neglecting its social aspect. Unable to access the content generated by users (which usually corresponds to the most interesting), there is no place for social functions, such as adding comments, voting videos, send them to social networks, etc..

Despite this, it is more than likely that thanks to Microsoft Messenger TV get steal some market share to giant YouTube, the same way as in the past increased the number of users of Live Search with only embed a search box windows conversation WL Messenger.

Let us hope that Microsoft will soon remedy their errors and include social functions in Messenger TV, and most importantly, he understands once and for all that it is impossible to climb on the bandwagon of viral content without giving the user a leading role in their services.
