Google pulls H.264 codec support from Chrome

In a move that will be welcomed by many and cursed by just as many folks, Google has announced that it will be dropping support for the H.264 video codec in Chrome?s HTML5 component. Ericsson: 1 billion mobile broadband subscribers
by end of 2011

We?re already big fans of mobile broadband, thanks to the mobility that it offers us. Now Ericsson, the world?s largest manufacturer of mobile network equipment has given us some interesting statistics. According to the company, mobile broadband subscriptions have surpassed the half-a-billion mark globally. While that is already a significant milestone, the company notes that the number will double before the close of 2011, pushing the number of mobile broadband subscribers to over 1 billion.

iOS 4.3 update to bring personal hotspot creation
to GSM iPhones

One of the major features of Verizon?s iPhone 4 is support for creating your own personal hotspots that supports up to five Wi-Fi devices to share the iPhone?s data connection. While there isn?t any official confirmation just yet, word is going around that Apple is planning to bring the same personal hotspot feature to GSM versions of the iPhone in the upcoming iOS 4.3 update.
