Sony has just announced its Sony VAIO AW Series of high definition notebooks, targeting those who are more inclined towards multimedia-oriented tasks instead of being stuck in a corporate office all day long, poring over figures and numbers of another company. Of course, it is more than adequate for those tasks, but why not use it as it was intended to be - to view or edit high-definition content on-the-go. Features of the Sony VAIO AW Series include :-

If you're an avid cyclist and love racing down the roads with your favorite tunes in tow, why not settle for the CY-FI wireless speaker system? This Bluetooth-enabled sports speaker won't slow you down as it weighs a mere 4 ounces, supporting hands-free and stereo Bluetooth profiles to work with your (compatible) handset. It clips onto the handlebars of your bike comfortably, and will be able to run for approximately 5.5 hours before requiring a recharge. That's more than sufficient time for everyone, unless of course, you're training for the Tour de France. CY-FI calls this the first Bluetooth sports speaker in the world, and will release it this 22nd for $180.

Yahoo! has a new free iPhone application ready - the OneConnect. What's so great about this, you ask? Well, it is able to centralize communications and social-networking activity, turning your normally boring address book into something that's alive. It is encouraging to see Yahoo! take the initiative by competing with Google as well as other players when it comes to mobile device applications, as competition tends to raise the standards, and we end users will end up as the primary beneficiaries. For example, OneConnect has a Pulse feature that allows you to tap into everything going on with your friends, pulling news feeds from Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Last.fm along with the other leading social networks in a single aggregated view. Pretty neat IMHO.

Brando is at it again, this time with a convergence device known as the eSATA And USB Combo Drive. If you fancy having a SSD in your notebook but do not have the budget to suit your wants, then this is the wallet-friendly solution that does not compromise on performance. With the eSATA And USB Combo Drive, one is able to achieve data transfer speeds of up to 71.6MB/s (read) and 23.3MB/s (write). Not only that, you can also choose to transfer data via USB 2.0, although that would result in much slower figures. Depending on your budget, you will be able to choose from 8GB to 32GB models, with prices starting from $46 and hitting $135 on the high end of the spectrum.

Sprint has rolled out the BlackBerry 8350i at CTIA, making it the first Curve handset that supports Nextel's iDEN network while offering push-to-talk functionality with 20 users within a single second, making this the perfect device to have for workers as well as outdoor travelers. I like the fact that you get a BlackBerry's "push" mail albeit with instant voice as well in a single device. In addition, you also get GPS navigation and Wi-Fi connectivity, making this one feature-packed smartphone that ought not to be passed if you're considering functionality as the top priority. Other features include a 2 megapixel camera, a microSD memory card slot, Mobile Office software suite and a high capacity battery. The BlackBerry 8350i will be ought later this year, with no word on pricing yet.

The Airis netbook might look familiar to many - that's because this is the ECS G10IL, with Airis being nothing but a rebrand to cater for the French market. As mentioned, the ECS G10IL is a pretty attractive netbook featuring curves that make it more desirable compared to the rest, and won't run on some half-past six Celeron processor, instead it opts for Intel's Atom range that offers some pretty decent performance figures. At 8.9", this isn't that cramped, making it suitable for typing plenty of pages on-the-go.

Sony Ericsson's W910 Walkman handset will soon come in a special MOBO edition, since the company also plays the role of sponsor for this year's MOBO Awards Show. The MOBO edition will see exclusive content provided, and it will be available on an exclusive basis from The Carphone Warehouse. Perfect for those looking for a Christmas gift, although I suspect that the iPhone 3G would be equally (if not more) welcome under the tree.
