DeepDesign from Italy has paraded its prototype hairdryer known as Winds, featuring an auto-switching machine with a revolutionary double airflow packed into an unusual L-shaped body. The reason for the body's unique shape is to prevent fatigue from repeated use, and the Winds was designed to be the most efficient, ergonomic and aesthetically sound hairdryer ever. If you're hankering after one for the missus, don't get your hopes up just yet. This is still a prototype that has yet to reach commission, so there's no point talking about production at this moment in time. Still, hope holds out for a miracle.

Is your iPhone or iPod the main media player out of your home and in your home? If the answer is affirmative, then the iPort media streamer ought to be a serious consideration when you think about purchasing a new piece of home electronics. This device is compatible with your iPhone and other iPods, allowing you to control any track you want to hear no matter where you are in the home, assuming your home is fully networked in the first place. Strange that the iPort media streamer retails for $200 - the exact amount in the iPhone's price reduction. If this was available at the Apple Store, at least you can put your credit rebate to good use instead of picking up that iPod Shuffle for your niece.

Plantronic's new Voyager 855 Bluetooth headset can switch between mono and stereo configurations on-the-fly, allowing listeners to keep one ear free instead of being immersed in the latest Top 40 hit. Features include AudioIQ noise reduction technology and a detachable stereo cable with a second earbud-style earpiece, depending on how you like your audio served. Other interesting specifications to take note of are a sleek profile, a sliding boom with a microphone, and dedicated call and music controls. Battery life stands at an average 7 hours for talktime and 200 hours for standby time. The Plantronics Voyager 855 Bluetooth headset will hit store shelves this October for $149.99, while a mono-only version will retail for $20 less.

OQO has refreshed the Model 02 Ultra UMPC that comes with a speedy 1.6GHz processor and the choice between a 120GB hard drive or a 32GB SSD. Obviously using the latter will result in faster boot and load times (up to 50%) as well as increased battery life and durability, but you will also have to dig deep to purchase one. The WWAN in the Model 02 Ultra has also been upgraded to 1.4Mbps EV-DO Rev, and all this despite the entry level price drop to $1,299 from $1,499. This updated 02 are currently on sale in the UK from resellers like Expansys.

Add to myYahoo! The BMW iDrive system was truly revolutionary when it was first released many years ago, but many people found it difficult to use. Well, all new things take time to adapt and hence the situation was no different with the iDrive system. The Smart Drive System concept from Hao-Chun Huang targets luxury SUVs and sedans by letting the driver control the vehicle's infotainment system without taking their eyes off the road, although it did not mention how. I suppose you can shift the knob in different directions and turn it in circles...hey, doesn't this sound exactly like BMW's iDrive? I guess this is a generic solution that can be fitted into less luxurious cars.

For those who want to pick up an unlocked iPhone, you'll be pleased to note that iPhoneSIMFree‘s retail partners have begun sales of iPhone unlocking software. To date, iPhoneWorldwideUnlock in Australia, 1digitalphone in Germany, iPhone4arab.com in Saudi Arabia, and Wireless Imports in the US have licensed the software from iPhoneSIMFree which can be purchased online for $99. Take note that there is no guarantee of compatibility with future iPhone firmware, so this could be just a temporary measure.

If you're the sneaky type who wants to know what other people's passwords are (as well as the contents of their email) will definitely find this Covert Keylogger Keyboard deviously delicious. It comes with 2MB of onboard storage and is capable of recording up to 2 million keystrokes - virtually enough to see what was typed over a period of several days. Better take a good look at this now so you'll know when to look a gift horse in the mouth and decline one this Christmas. Thankfully the highly prohibitive price tag of $435 will probably make most people think twice, but if they could gain access to your bank account with that 'investment', your remaining balance would probably be a lucrative prospect for them.

Add to myYahoo! The Wii Zapper from Nintendo will not be a standalone accessory as it is bundled with Link's Crossbow Training software. Those familiar with the Legend of Zelda series will definitely be at home with this software that provides a demonstration on how the Wii Zapper will be used in other games. The casing holds both the Wii Remote and Nunchuck controllers in a single unit, offering (purportedly) precise targeting. Will we see a 21st century version of Duck Hunt soon? Nevertheless, expect more (casual) shooting games to appear on the Wii, and at $19.99, the Wii Zapper won't really take a big bite out of your wallet. Read more about it at Nintendo’s press release.

The ThinkNavi UZ GPS navigation device targets the European market with different strategies, including the 'Pick-up Service' which is actually a fixing service by post that features long distance coverage within a short period of time. TMC Pro is offered free of charge, enabling drivers to obtain real-time traffic information while they're on the go. The 3.5" screen size looks set to remain as the standard in mainstream European markets, although I think one would have to squint more often than not when viewing information shown. MP3 and video file playback completes the list of features. No idea on how much the ThinkNavi UZ costs though.
