When Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S3, one of the device?s more intriguing accessories was its wireless charger. Unfortunately if that was one of the accessories you were planning on getting along with your brand new handset, you?re out of luck. UK retailer Mobile Fun has confirmed that the wireless charger will be delayed and will not be released alongside the Galaxy S3, but exactly how much of a delay are we looking at here? A week or two? Try several months.
Samsung hasn?t said anything about the delay so far nor have they given their reasons, but if you don?t mind third-party wireless chargers, Mobile Fun is reportedly looking for third-party alternatives in an effort to appease those who are buying the Galaxy S3. We?re not sure how successful they will be in their search efforts but for the sake of our friends and readers in the UK, we hope that they find something soon! We?re not sure if this delay will affect those of us stateside but hopefully it will resolve itself by then.

Without doubt many Android users are looking forward to getting their hands on the latest Android 4.0 update. While the update has made its way onto several devices, there still remains a pretty huge share of the Android population still running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Either way if you think that mods like CyanogenMod 7 that?s based on the Gingerbread build of Android is fine and you don?t see the need for CyanogenMod 9 yet, you will be pleased to learn that the latest build of CyanogenMod 7.2 is currently in the works and that a final release will be made ?soon?.
Even better news is that for owners of devices that will not make it to CyanogenMod 9, let alone an official Android 4.0 update, is that the development of CyanogenMod 7 will continue even after 7.2 to ensure that as little people as possible will be left in the dark. On top of that, the team has also announced five new devices – the HTC Status, HTC Wildfire S, LG Optimus Chic, Motorola Photon and the Samsung Galaxy S 5 – as devices that have been added to the nightly list for CyanogenMod 7.2. Pop on over to the source link below for the details.

We?re sure that most of you by now would have probably seen those tablet/laptop hybrid devices that run on Windows 8, right? In case you?re not sure what we?re talking about, there have been several demo units of devices that have the ability to pull double duty as either a tablet or as a laptop. This is thanks to Microsoft?s upcoming Windows 8 operating system which has been designed for both computers and tablets in mind. Either way if such a device has caught your attention and you think it?s a fantastic idea, Lenovo?s product group?s president, Peter Hortensius, has revealed (via CIO Journal) that the company would be putting out such devices some time next year.
This device will be part of the company?s ThinkPad lineup and is expected to feature a touchscreen display and a physical keyboard, allowing it to transform from a tablet into a laptop and vice versa. Of course specs of such a device remain unknown this early on but it is expected to run on Microsoft?s Windows 8 platform. So, what do you guys think? Would you prefer keeping your devices separate or do you think this all-in-one combo is a good idea?

While the Archos Child Pad has yet to hit ourselves, thanks to a leaked Archos road map (via Notebook Italia), it seems that the company is already planning its successor, the rather unimaginatively named Archos Child Pad 2. While its hardware specs are expected to remain the same as the original Child Pad, one of the main differences is that it will feature a capacitive touchscreen display instead. For those unaware, the current Child Pad features a resistive touchscreen which helped to contribute to its low price tag of $129. Interestingly it seems that Archos has managed to include a capacitive display while maintaining a $129 for the Child Pad 2 – assuming the leaked road map is to be believed of course. While specifics have yet to be revealed, assuming the road map is to be believed and that the Child Pad 2 will feature the same internals as the original, would-be customers can look forward to a 1GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, access to the Kids App Store, parental controls and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Some people like to hold their game controllers differently and all this boils down to personal preference. It seems that Microsoft has thought of that too which might explain a patent the company filed for back in 2009 that suggested that they were looking at pressure-sensitive gaming controllers. What this basically does is that the controller will be able to recognize the player depending on the pressure-sensitivity that is being exerted onto the controller while they?re playing it. (more…)

You?ve just spent a couple of hundred on your brand new iPhone instead of plonking down more money on plastic that may or may not be recyclable, how about taking a look at Case-Mate?s new series of iPhone cases made from recyclable plastic? According to the company, these cases are made from 100% recycled post-consumer PET bottles (i.e. the plastic from soda and water bottles) and that one recycled bottle equals to one iPhone case. Pretty cool huh? According to the company: (more…)

Add to myYahoo! We?ve come across plenty of Etch A Sketch like cases for the iPhone and iPad in the past, but it looks like this Kickstarter projected dubbed Etcher is interested in taking things to the next level. Etcher is basically a case for your iPad that looks like an Etch A Sketch but comes with its functionality as well. It comes with an accompanying app and users will use the knobs on the case itself to draw, just like they would with an actual Etch A Sketch toy. For those wondering, yes, it will erase itself if you shake it. It is a pretty cool idea we?ll have to admit, but at the same time it looks like a novelty accessory that might not be for everyone. Either way if you?d like to see what the Etcher is capable of, check out the video above for a demonstration by Pauline Graziano, a professional Etch A Sketch artist, or head on down to Etcher?s Kickstarter page for the details or to pledge your donation.
