With this latest release, ATI is doubling back to fill some gaps in its wildly successful Radeon HD5xxx series of video cards. The previous release, the HD5450, was the logical terminus of their GPU bisecting act. In fact, they got a little carried away, and lopped off almost all the Stream Processors, in order to reduce the power requirements down to the lowest possible level. This time, the goal was to create the best performing low-profile HTPC card they could. The HD5570 is the first in a series of HD55xx video cards, and for now, it will probably be the top card in the group. Loaded up with the Redwood GPU from the HD5670, 1 GB of GDDR3 memory, and an all copper active GPU cooler, the HD5570 looks to be the King of the low-profile world, without the attendant King's ransom. Follow along with Benchmark Reviews as we see how it stacks up against its siblings.

Century Japan's EX35EU2R RAID system is its latest RAID 0/1/3/5/10 that allows you to - count it, stack up to five 3.5” SATA hard drives, with a maximum capacity of 2TB per hard drive, totaling a whopping 10TB for you to play around with. The Century EX35EU2R RAID system will in turn be connected to your computer through a choice of USB 2.0 or eSATA, where the latter would definitely be the more preferable option if performance is on the top of your list. Expect to see the EX35EU2R hit Japan sometime next week.

Sony has just outed its first 3D-ready Blu-ray player known as the BDP-S740, where a firmware upgrade that will roll out later this summer will enable viewers to enjoy 3D content with the player. The BDP-S470 is also a social beast, allowing users to stream content from Amazon, Netflix, YouTube, Slacker, NPR and Sony among others. Heck, there is also a brand new iPhone app known as BD Remote which allows users to control the new players from their handsets directly. The BDP-S740 is one of their cheaper and more affordable Blu-ray players, let alone being 3D capable down the road, retailing for a mere $200. The Sony PS3 is starting to be a better and better buy as time goes by.

TwoNav has revealed its latest handheld GPS device known as Sportiva, where it was co-manufactured with old hand Holux. This device is highly portable, capable of fitting into just about any backpack on your travels by measuring a mere 58mm × 105mm x 23mm, while tipping the scales at 124 grams. It is pretty tough as well, catering to IPX6 standards, boasts a 3D compass, a barometer, a 3? transflective touchscreen display, 2GB of internal memory and a microSDHC memory card reader. Underneath the hood lies a SiRFStar III GPS chipset, while its 1,050mAh battery ought to offer hours of performance before requiring a recharge. This is more ideal for hiking, biking and geocaching during your outdoor trails, and is not suitable for driving use. Expect the TwoNav Sportiva to roll out in a couple of weeks' time for €379.

Toshiba is back with a heart for those who do not have the intestinal fortitude to get rid of their VHS collection, by offering the D-W255K - a DVD VHS recorder combo that features 250GB of storage space, a digital TV Tuner for HD recording, DLNA compatibility with a USB hard drive network and SKYPerfectTV support. For those who want something even simpler, there is the D-VDR9K that is a basic DVD-to-VHS recorder. We do wonder what the demographics are for people who pick up such devices.
