Munitio puts 9mm bullets in your ears

Munitio SITi 9mm

Interesting novelty gadgets seem few and far between so it pleases us to write about an interesting set of earphones that popped up recently. No these aren?t the revolutionary sculpted eers, but will probably garner you just as many looks and “whoas!” from your friends and strangers alike. Created by Munitio, these SITi 9mm earphones are the kinds of objects that are likely to get you in trouble with airport security.

Modeled after 9mm shell casings, the earphones even have flexible tips that are trademarked as SiliconeHollowPoints. The earphones feature 9mm speaker drivers with rare earth neodymium magnets within a titanium-coated machined copper alloy housing that is said to deliver “unmatched sound purity, natural noise cancelling and durability.”

The Munitio 9mm SITi earphones also come with a Kevlar-reinforced cable for extra durability and a 3.5mm stereo plug for you to plug into your favorite MP3 player/gadget. It’s available now in silver or gold finish and retail for $159, and there’s also a version with a built-in microphone that goes for $179.

Gooapple phone combines the best of both worlds

Gooapple

Every now and then we’ll come across a Shanzai device that proves interesting enough to write about and today the Gooapple 3G is that one device. At first glance, the phone looks just like an iPhone 4, with measurements and even the width of the phone copied down to a T. It even has a thickness of 9.3mm and fits most cases made for the iPhone 4! If that’s not a good copy, then I don’t know what is.

HIS Radeon HD6950 IceQ-X Turbo-X Video Card

HIS first introduced its IceQ coolers in 2003 to its Radeon 9800PRO series of video cards, eight years later HIS return with the IceQ X cooler, which thankfully performs much better than it looks. In this review the IceQ X cooler is strapped onto a HIS HD6950 Turbo X video card which comes factory overclocked at 880MHz GPU and 1300MHz Memory. Pushing clocks this far on a factory overclocked video card takes some guts, but HIS know that they have nothing to worry about, their IceQ cooler is up to the job. Benchmark Reviews aims to provide you with an unbiased review of the HIS HD6950 IceQ X Turbo X model H695QNX2G2M and report back our findings, keeping you informed on the latest technologies available on the market today.

Fujitsu car navigation system helps you find your
car

Have you ever gotten stuck in a situation where were unable to remember for the life of you, just where you managed to park your vehicle? Fujitsu intends to help you out if you happen to have an iPhone, that is, where their car navigation system that is stored on an SD memory card will be able to use your iPhone to guide you to exactly where you last parked your four wheeler. Known as the AVN-F01i, it will be priced at around $1,121 after conversion, without the need to fork out more money for the applications – which is a good thing, of course.

Kinect hack might be used in intelligent healing
massage

Love all things Kinect, as well as the many hacks that follow the device to make it a worthy rival to the Nintendo Wiimote when it comes to filling non-gaming needs? That is what this latest Kinect hack might result in, targeting massage therapists who intend to help their clients connect to their “energy fields,” or perhaps for those who want a winding down massage after a particularly long hard day of work. Either way, the Flow Field 2 is here to help, thanks to New York University grad student Jason Stephens.

Jason has merged the use of a video projector, Kinect, and OpenKinect Libraries programming tools that will follow the massage therapist’s “flow field” (aka movements), where it will beam all output onto the client’s body, resulting in a sea of colors that will soothe the senses.

Sony VPL-HW30ES projector does 3D in your living
room

3D HDTVs are not new, and while manufacturers have rolled them out in considerable number this year, the adoption rate isn’t really that high – at least, not as high as the manufacturers intended in the first place. Even moviegoers do not really find 3D films to be that appealing once the initial wow factor has worn off, as movie studios have admitted to that. Well, for those who want to jump aboard the 3D bandwagon at home can check out the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector.

This special projector will share many features as found in the high end Sony VPL-VW90ES model that rolled out in fall last year for a cool $10,000 thereabouts, although this model will come in a far more pocket friendly package. No idea on pricing or availability as at press time Stateside, but we do know that the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector will be arriving across both ponds – that is, Europe and Japan, for around $4,600 after conversion.

Google loves its electric vehicle fleet

Google intends to pave the way forward where electric vehicles are concerned, where the Internet search giant is looking to become the largest electric vehicle charging station operator in the country, having installed around 200 chargers with another 250 coming their way (in order status currently). This would bode well for those who work at the Google Campus, since it means you can safely purchase an electric vehicle without worrying too much about running out of juice when you arrive at your workplace.
