Motorcycles can be pretty dangerous vehicles, especially when there’s an additional passenger involved. Since they don’t have safety belts, the rear passenger has to find something to hold on to while the bike is moving, and it usually turns out to be the waist of the rider in front, or the tiny rear grab bar if the passenger isn’t very comfortable with the idea of holding the rider close.
A product designer and motorcyclist named Andrew Lewis came up with a solution to the problem. Called the Moto-Grip, the device resembles a harness strap that passengers can use to grab onto instead of awkwardly grabbing onto the driver’s waist. The harness will allow the rear passenger to comfortably stay on the bike throughout the journey without having to worry about falling off.
The harness has a break strength of 2,000 pounds and can handle a person that’s up to 300 pounds it’s one tough strap to break. The only drawback to the Moto-Grip is that it needs to be worn by the driver, which could be a hassle to put on and it doesn’t look too female-friendly, especially she had a male passenger behind her.
It also comes in a version for children called the Moto-Grip Jr. which keeps the child safely attached to the Moto-Grip harness. The Moto-Grip is available now for $179.95, while the Moto-Grip Jr. is available for $79.95.

At the recent Oppenheimer Technology & Communications Conference, Motorola Mobility’s CEO, Sanjay Jha said that although the company is focusing on creating Android phones, he isn’t opposed to the idea of creating phones powered by the Windows Phone operating system. He said that he is open to working with Microsoft, though it would have to be a deal similar to what Microsoft has with Nokia ? with Motorola having the freedom to customize the Windows Phone operating system in ways that other manufacturers can’t.
Despite saying that he wouldn’t mind creating WP phones ? he doesn’t have high hopes for the operating system, saying that Windows Phone, webOS and BlackBerry will be able to survive in the current smartphone market that’s dominated by Android and iOS. It makes you wonder why he would even bother considering the notion of creating a WP phone if he doesn’t even believe in the platform in the first place. What do you guys think of a Motorola Windows Phone device? Any takers? Or does the possibility of MotoBLUR on Windows Phone scare you away?

Bad news for folks who purchase their MP3s from Wal-Mart. The world’s largest retailer chain will stop its MP3 business by the end of this month, August 29th. The company didn’t give a reason for ending the sales of MP3s other than saying it was a “business decision.” Wal-Mart’s MP3 business began back in 2003 when the company decided to compete against Apple’s iTunes. Since then the number of competitors Wal-Mart had to square off against have grown immensely.

Tired of seeing manufacturers come up with the same old iPad cases and docks that vary slightly from one another? Looking for something that’s fresh, interesting and useful? Veyl Products’ latest creation, the ePillow aims to do all that. This unique iPad accessory isn’t like just any other case you’ve seen before ? it comes in the form of a pillow that has a vinyl “ledge” that can be used to hold your iPad tablet either horizontally or vertically.
Working with the iPad and iPad 2, the ePillow is said to allow users to use the tablet more ergonomically, which will reduce neck aches, muscle fatigue, eyestrain, and more. The ePillow can be used on a lap, or on a table, and especially on your bed (it is a pillow after all ? just remember not to sleep on it lest you end up damaging the iPad).
The ePillow is available now in chocolate brown or deep black and will set you back $29.95.

It looks like eBooks are one of the few things that are still selling well in the country’s current depressing economy. According to BookStats, a company that studies the US publishing industry, eBooks have been doing really well. Sales of eBooks made up 6.4% of all book sales in 2010, with the number expected to grow even more this year. In fact, since 2008, eBook sales have went up by 1039.6%, while revenue in the same period was also increased by 1274.1%! Though with the influx of tablet market and eBook readers in recent years, especially the arrival of the iPad, it’s not a huge surprise to why there has been such a huge jump.

Fans of Half-brick studio’s addictive fruit-slashing game, Fruit Ninja, will be glad to know that the game is finally available for download on their Xbox 360 consoles.
