The Yike Bike electric folding bicycle is pretty interesting - who would've thought that something like this would ever hit the market? While it might be the lightest and smallest of its kind in the world, it definitely ain't cheap at $4,450 a pop. Guess the same applies to anything with a superlative word in them. Designed and constructed in Christchurch New Zealand, the Yike Bike weighs a mere 10 kgs, and can hit a top speed of 25km/h. It is made out of carbon composite to achieve its lightweight frame, and takes 30 minutes to recharge fully.

The Dr. Yi ebook reader could very well change the way ebooks are manufactured, thanks to its high-resolution electronic paper. This is a genuine technological revolution that offers a crisp black-and-white display, making it look as though you were reading on printed paper itself. After all, it is capable of reflecting light similar to the way an ordinary paper does without the need for any backlighting, doing away with the glare which are normally associated with other electronic displays. This $315 device will run on a Linux operating system, an ARM9 200MHz processor as well as 22 hours of battery life. No idea on its content delivery system though.

Just when you thought that having 8 hours of battery life on your netbook was something amazing and phenomenal, along comes MSI with the claim of up to 15 hours of battery life for the Wind U160. Of course, that is but in theory, and under controlled conditions which include having the netbook run in Eco mode. Hopefully the final diagnosis will see it hit at least more than half of the advertised battery life. Other specifications of this $380 netbook include a 10" LED display at 1.024 x 600 resolution, 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive and Windows 7 Starter Edition as the operating system of choice. [Press Release]

ASIQ has recently unveiled a brand new Bluetooth access point for aircraft, allowing airlines to enable passengers to access a cheaper communications method compared to Wi-Fi. This access point will play nice with the following messaging services - SMS, MMS, voice messaging, text and email, letting cellphone users utilize such modes of communication without having to connect to a Wi-Fi network. It will cost around $10,000 to outfit this Bluetooth access point in each aircraft, which is 10 times cheaper than what it costs compared to Wi-Fi systems. We look forward to Q2 2010 for the first outfitting.

We know that the iPad has already undergone rife speculation concerning the inclusion of a front facing webcam, and here's another piece of the puzzle that might just confirm that. The iPad frame you see here features holes to hold a webcam, and while it doesn't seem as though it will be able to use current iSight modules, that could point to a different kind of webcam which will be implemented in due time. What do you think of all this? Could a webcam be part of the iPad's second revision, and the manufacturers of its bezel are trying to save money by preparing for the future so that they don't have to come up with two kinds of bezels?
