While electronics manufacturers have been touting the wonders of plasma and LCD displays for your home, there is still a huge chunk of the population who simply cannot afford to drop those dollars into such luxuries as they are more preoccupied with surviving. Those in that category can settle for something in between with LG's announcement of a new pseudo LCD TV. This CRT set targets the Middle East and African markets, and looks set to be a seller since it costs 25% the price of an LCD and comes in an extremely thin package. I don't mind picking one up if it supports HD though, but so far there is no mention of HD support so I will have to sit this one out.

Although I'm not too comfortable dressing up my electronics in wood, there are some manufacturers who have released TVs that are encased in real wood, giving the local termites yet another dish to consider as they mull over their next meal. This Bamboo LCD TV offers 19" of widescreen goodness (which is pretty small by today's standards) and comes with a pair of built-in speakers and the all important remote control for couch potatoes. In case anyone accuses you of not doing your part in keeping the earth green, you can argue that bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants (it is actually a type of grass) on the planet and can be harvested quickly without affecting the environment. In fact, when you've upgraded to a 50" LCD TV, you need not fret about your $475 Bamboo TV polluting the world since the enclosure can be reused or decompose as refuse.

PMA '07 is the place to be if you're a camera buff and love all things photography. Pandigital certainly did not disappoint with the release of their digital picture frame that offers a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Features include 256MB of internal memory, a 6-in-1 memory card reader, and a thickness of just 0.375", making it a suitable candidate to hang on the wall. Pandigital folks also claim that Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities will follow in June after a firmware update, while Q4 will see this digital picture frame achieve Internet connectivity. If you can overlook the 4:3 aspect ratio and take its potential into consideration, I won't be surprised if this offering from Pandigital flies off the shelves when it is released this May for $299 a pop.

Iwasaki Electric will be unveiling the LED light that is meant for outdoor use sometime this July, featuring a trio of built-in 5W medium and wide LED unit lenses or 15W with the same degree of luminescence efficiency when compared to its predecessors that used 40W units. As most of us with outdoor lights can attest, the unseen UV rays emitted often attract insects by the droves, but these new LED lights does otherwise, ensuring your garden patio doesn't get littered with squashed bugs the morning after. Of course, it would be better if they integrated some form of mosquito repellent inside, but that would be asking for too much. The upcoming LED lights will have a longevity of an amazing 40,000 hours before requiring a replacement.

The SoundGate PC can be lumped inside no man's land, as this tablet/laptop hybrid functions as weird as it looks. Designed specifically for musicians, the SoundGate enables users to record sessions, transcribe music, and compose their next multi-platinum single thanks to a 10" touchscreen LCD display and a flip-style QWERTY keyboard. Additional features include a volume knob and jog dials, while a special stand enables you to prop the SoundGate right in front whenever you're entertaining a crowd while on stage. This concept was thought up by Nicolas Gonzalez Garrido and has enough sexy curves to appeal to the non-music crowd.

We've all heard of audiobooks, but so far none of them run on anything else other than batteries. Shop.com is currently offering a Talking Bible that helps keep the environment green by harnessing the power of the sun to keep it going. A full charge is capable of making this talking tome rattle away for 14 hours without breaking a sweat. Features include a large speaker, volume controls, a pause button, and bookmarks. A tool for the elderly and visually impaired, the Solar Powered Talking Bible retails for $99.

Walk into any bigwig's office and you will be greeted with an office desk nameplate, but just like the owner of those etched names, these nameplates are obsolete with the availability of the Personal Digital Billboard. Not only can you program your name and position, you can also use it to display messages or promote your store after hours outside of regular office use. Off the top of my head, I can think of restaurants, retail stores, and clinics using the Personal Digital Billboard to dispense soup of the day, best buys, and medical advice respectively to clients. This device can store up to 26 pre-programmed messages of 60 characters each and retails for $89.95.

You must be missing a heart if your pet goes missing and you couldn't give two hoots about it, instead heading down to the local pet store to pick up a replacement. PetSafe aims to help pet lovers locate their wayward animal friends via the Micro I.D. Rescue Collar that comes with an integrated USB flash drive which contains all the necessary information like your home, work, and cellphone numbers in addition to vet records, a pet profile, and even some photos. Each $39 Micro I.D. Rescue Collar comes with a toll-free number which connects Samaritans to the PetSafe Rescue Service in case they cannot access a computer at that time.

Amex Digital has released the TSK-VX7 wireless touch sensitive keyboard in Hong Kong, hoping that the success of the LG Chocolate's touch sensitive keypad will be carried over to the computing world. This solid keyboard comes with keys etched into the backlit plastic, where sensors beneath will detect whether it has been tapped or not. I guess all three keyboard vacuum manufacturers out there can pack up and move out if this ever catches on in the West. What about our readers - do you prefer to type on a keyboard with some kind of tactile feedback or otherwise? I still prefer the former as there is nothing quite like the clickety-clack sound as my fingers dance over those lovely QWERTY keys...

CNet has taken the Dada MP3 sneakers out for a spin, and one thing is guaranteed - you won't be winning medals anytime soon while wearing this on track in a competition. Silver discs at the side of the sneakers are actually speakers, with sub par sound being pumped out (surprise, surprise). There is a mere 124MB of internal memory inside the sneaker while the actual MP3 player is integrated just below the foot padding at the sole. You control audio playback via your tongue - an idea I find hard to swallow (pardon the pun). Will the controller remain inside my mouth all the time? What if I accidentally choke on it? Other details like price, battery life, and availability are still unknown.
