Add to myYahoo!By Andrew LiszewskiA while ago Polaroid appointed Lady Gaga their Creative Director and at CES this year we’re finally starting to see the fruits of that collaboration. One of the big reveals at their booth, by Lady Gaga herself, was the Polaroid GL30 seen behind glass above. Like the original Polaroids the GL30 is able [...]

Add to myYahoo!By Andrew LiszewskiAre you a fan of the Mini Cooper and moderate levels of flash memory? You’re not alone because a Chinese company has gone to a lot of trouble to license the Mini brand and create surprisingly detailed USB flash drives. [CES 2011] Shuttle?s foray into the tablet market comes in the form of the P10AN01 ? powered by NVIDIA?s Tegra 250 chipset (by the way, NVDIA?s stock has already hit $20) alongside a 1GHz Cortex A9 processor to give it a rather beefy foundation. Android 2.2 FroYo is the operating system of choice here, so don?t expect a fully optimized tablet experience. Strangely enough, the 10.1? capacitive multitouch display sports a 1026 x 600 resolution which is different from most of the other players in the market that do 1024 x 768 ? a typo on Shuttle?s part, perhaps? Connectivity options include Bluetooth and 3G, HDMI and a 3.5mm audio jack. Nice to see Shuttle include a Lock button on the upside of the device to make sure you won?t accidentally activate any program or make an unwanted phone call. There won?t be the traditional quartet of buttons that are associated with most Android devices here either, helping it being set apart from the rest of the tablets out there. No word on pricing or availability as at press time though, but if you want a fingerprint magnet, this is a potential candidate.

[CES 2011] MSI plays around with the idea of a heavenly being being part of your computer, hence the Angellow. The back is supposed to show off angel?s feathers, but we think of it to be more of gills from a shark. The components of the computer will be concealed in the back stand in order to keep the display as thin as possible. Luminous material located at the back will light it up at night for that added touch of elegance. Nice to know MSI keeps things practical as you can adjust the angle of the Angellow at any time for a more comfortable computing experience. It might hit the market though as it does look pretty viable for production.

[CES 2011] Tablets might not just be for adults anymore if MSI has their way by rolling out the Kid Pad tablet concept. Boasting a 10? touchscreen display that is crammed into a body which is no heavier than 900 grams, this does seem to be a pretty decent device if the price is right, assuming it ever makes its way to the market of course. Interestingly enough, the integrated handle doubles up as a stand for you to watch movies on the Kid Pad. With around 8 hours of battery power, it does sound more than a decent piece of hardware.

[CES 2011] Check out this unique looking conceptual device that might just have some of you wet your pants ? the MSI Butterfly that sports a 10-point multi-touch advance All-In-One display. What makes it different from the rest would be a removable 7? portable tablet device that functions as a portable media player when detached. The base will hold all the necessary components required to run the Butterfly, but will it actually ?hatch? from the conceptual state to reality? Perhaps ? only time will tell.

[CES 2011] Cloud computing is a buzzword that many of us hear these days, and NEC is quick to jump on the bandwagon with the LT-S Cloud Communicator which is powered by the Android operating system. Coming with a 7-inch display, it is carried around more like a diary than anything else. There are relevant hardware keys for button operation, and a SDHC memory card slot for you to store your favorite content. Sporting Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity alongside the option for 3G, the LT-S can link to the NEC BIGLOBE androidnavi application portal ? perhaps in Japan only? Other hardware specifications include a 3-megapixel autofocus camera, GPS support and up to 8 hours of battery life. I like the page flipping animation of the comic that was pre-loaded, although it does slow down if your finger moves too fast.
