Sugar OS, a custom Linux user interface that was specially designed for the OLPC XO notebook, is now back with version 2.0 of its Sugar on a Stick. Here's a refresher course - Sugar on a Stick enables one to run the Sugar OS directly off a USB flash drive on your machine, which is pretty neat since you won't need to worry about using a netbook/notebook without a proper operating system installed. The new version has been dubbed Blueberry and is built on Fedora 12, bringing more features including Flash support, Open Office 4 Kids, improved wireless networking, an easier keyboard configuration and updated versions of previous installed applications found on earlier versions. Just make sure your USB flash drive has at least 1GB of storage space before proceeding.

It isn't everyday that you find a toaster design which picks up a prize at the Berner Design Awards, but guess the planets are all aligned correctly this time round with the Printer Toaster by Othmar Mühlebach. It looks modern and yet retro simultaneously, droping your toast in a similar manner as an old school printer or fax machine. Too bad the lower tray will gather up crumbs much faster than we'd like, but when it comes to seeing your toast being, well, toasted, the process is just mesmerizing.

No, the Moonwalk Lamp isn't something from Michael Jackson's estate, but instead is a design by Thomas de Lussac. Measuring roughly 13" x 7" x 7", you get a body that is made out of metal, followed up by some laser-cut, folding and lacquering before being rested on a clear acrylic base. The retro filament bulb isn't exactly the greenest thing going around though, and for something this simple, we're left scratching our heads as to why it retails for a whopping €187 a pop.

Sanyo let out word that they will parade their Solar Electric Vehicle (EV) at the upcoming Eco Products 2009 International Exhibition in Tokyo, where this solar EV will be powered not by Eneloops, but Sanyo's very own Solar Panels and Lithium Ion batteries. The truck (sorry, no fancy sports car here) is able to run up to a purported 130km after 16 hours of direct solar charging, while those who decide to take the more conventional approach of going through AC power will require half the amount of time. Too bad this ain't a looker, otherwise a green playboy might just want to check it out.

If you're living up the green lifestyle and want to zip from place to place without having to go through rush hour traffic, might we suggest the Zoomla bike? It is certainly far from conventional where the design is concerned, especially since it boasts a single-pivot fold for superior portability. Apart from that, the Zoomla will utilize a system known as TorqSteer, helping eliminate the hassle of a steering tube. Zoomla relies on an internal drive system even though it is also equipped with a couple of orange pedals better known as the Pedaldeck.
