Simulate the next-gen iPhones rumored display
with this tweak

The rumors are running rampant regarding Apple?s next-gen iPhone which is rumored to be announced in September. One of its alleged features includes a 4? display with a resolution of 640×1136, making the phone ?taller? than it is ?wider?. Of course it remains to be seen if these rumors pan out but if you?re curious as to whether this new display is suitable for you, and you?re tired of looking at renderings and mock ups, there is a ?hack? that lets you simulate the rumored display resolution of the upcoming iPhone. It requires you to download Apple?s developer tools and follow a set of instructions to simulate a 640×1136 iOS screen on your computer. If you?re interested in giving it a go, pop on over to Cedric Luthi?s website for the instructions on how to do so.

Microsoft appears to be preparing for the
next-gen Surface

Microsoft Surface

When Microsoft announced the Surface Windows tablet, this came as a shock to many, especially to the company?s manufacturing partners who apparently were not aware of Microsoft?s intentions until the very last minute. The Surface is set to debut later this year and while it remains to be seen if it will prove to be a strong competitor against Apple?s iPad, the reaction by many have shown that it is at the very least well received by those who have tried it.

While this might sound a bit premature, is it possible that Microsoft could already be working on the next-gen Surface without waiting to see how well the first one takes off? It certainly does seem that way thanks to a Microsoft Careers page which is currently on the hunt for engineers and managers who will be responsible for the ?next generation? of Surface devices. Of course this does not mean that a Surface 2 is already in the works, but at the very least it seems that Microsoft has already begun planning it. Either way we?re pretty excited about the tablet and can?t wait to see how it fares in the fiercely competitive tablet market.

Lenovo X1 Carbon Review

Last year, Lenovo came out with the Lenovo Thinkpad X1, a laptop that was unprecedented in the company?s history. Lenovo is coming back with a follow-up in the the Lenovo X1 Carbon. The new laptop builds upon the strengths of the original X1, but improves upon just about everything, and that includes the screen size (14?), weight (3lbs) and design.

The Lenovo X1 Carbon has been designed to go beyond Intel?s Ultrabook specifications, and Lenovo claims that it is the lightest 14? computer in world. At just 3lbs it has a weight similar to the Macbook Air 13?. On paper, this looks like a terrific laptop and now we?re going to test it in the real world to see if Lenovo has delivered what we hoped when we first saw the Lenovo X1 Carbon in the flesh.
