The next time you walk by toy stores and see Angry Birds plushies and keychains up for sale, do not be so quick to dismiss them. You can?t be blamed if you thought who on earth would be such a huge fan that they would not only play the game, but buy the toys at the same time, but apparently these toys are raking in the cash for its developer, Rovio. Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, Commonwealth Toy & Novelty Co.?s vice president, Lisa Shamus revealed that they are expected to double the sales of Angry Birds related merchandise and together with Rovio, has estimated that they might be able to pull in a whopping $400 million in 2012. That makes us wonder how much those unofficial toys and merchandise manufacturers are making as well.

If you?ve enjoyed playing games like Assassin?s Creed and Hitman, then the Thief franchise might be something you could enjoy as well. Either way for fans of the franchise, you guys are no doubt aware that Thief 4 is currently in the works. It was announced back in 2009 and back then it was stated that it was only in early development. Come 2012 and there still isn?t much to go on regarding the game, but according to the OXM, it seems that Thief 4 will be passing on the current generation of gaming consoles and will instead be released on next-gen consoles, like the Xbox 720 (a.k.a Durango) which many believe will be making its debut at E3 next year. Of course apart from analyst predictions and rumors, there is nothing official regarding next-gen gaming consoles at the moment, so we suggest you take this with a grain of salt for now. However hypothetically speaking, if Thief 4 were indeed being made for next-gen consoles, what sort of features do you think we can expect, apart from presumably amazing graphics?

There has been some mention of flexible smartphones lately, and we have also reported on how Korean scientists have come up with a flexible battery which looks like a perfect complement for a flexible smartphone. At this point in time it is uncertain as to what the device could look like, but supposedly the introduction of the flexible display helped to free up space for a larger battery. Apart from its rumored 5.5? 16:9 display and now the rumors of a flexible Super AMOLED panel, not much else is known about the device but be sure to check back with us on the 29th of August for the details! Earlier we reported on rumors that Nikon could be working on releasing a new Coolpix camera which should be announced towards the end of the month. Apart from its 28-200mm f/2.4 lens, not much else is known and it has been speculated that it could be the P7100?s successor, possibly the P7200. However thanks to a recent filing with the Indonesian Communication Agency, a certain Coolpix S800 has been revealed and according to the expected specs, it will be an Android-powered camera with a 25-250mm lens, a 3.5? OLED display at the back, built-in GPS and WiFi and will most likely be running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread as its choice of operating system.
It is also expected to support all Google Play apps. This is certainly does not sound like the ?high end? Coolpix camera that was rumored earlier, but it certainly sounds interesting. Using Android as its choice of operating system is not new and has been talked about and done before. The Coolpix S800 is expected to be announced on the 22nd of August, so if this particular camera sounds like something you might be interested in, check back with us then for the details.
