For those of you who are thinking about picking up the upcoming ASUS Transformer Prime, quad-core Android tablet, you might not have to wait too long to pick it up. According to rumors online, the ASUS Transformer Prime is expected to be released just a few weeks after its launch on November 9th. Apparently the company is trying to follow in Apple’s footsteps in terms of tactics, and they want to reduce the waiting time from product announcement to its arrival in retail outlets. With the tablet already appearing in benchmark tests, it doesn’t seem too hard to believe.
The tablet is said to also be a US priority product, which means it will be released in the US before the rest of the world. No word on how true these rumors are, but if they turn out to be accurate, it’s going to be great for consumers (nobody loves waiting), though it makes you wonder why ASUS didn’t follow this philosophy with its previously announced devices like the Padfone that was introduced quite awhile ago. Regardless, the 9th is only a couple of days away, so we won’t have to wait too long to find out more about the tablet and its eventual launch.

Ever since HP announced the death of webOS hardware, people wondered about what HP was going to do with the operating system. There have been rumors of HP pondering about selling the operating system to interested buyers, and now it looks like those stories might be coming true. Today, Reuters reported that HP has enlisted the help of Bank of America Merril Lynch to determine whether selling or keeping webOS would be better for the company financially.
HP spent $1.2 billion on purchasing webOS from Palm last year and while they don’t expect to make back that amount of money, the eventual sale of webOS could possibly bring in “hundreds of millions of dollars” back to the company. In addition, there’s been a new rumor of a new company interested in purchasing the operating system: Oracle; which is interesting because HP’s ex-CEO, Mark Hurd, currently serves as co-president. Doesn’t that remind you of Stephen Elop leaving Microsoft for Nokia and then getting the company to create Windows Phone devices? What do you think of HP selling off webOS ? is it the right thing for the company to do?

Add to myYahoo! At Benchmark reviews, we thought it might be interesting to offer light hearted article on the new PC version FPS/RPG hybred game RAGE, from id software, the creators of DOOM. I've played a lot of PC games since I started using computers. I'm not saying I'm a gamer, because I'm not. But, I have a good feel for how games have matured since DOOM, which was my first PC game. I've been luke warm with the entire genre of FPSs, MMOGs, and RTSs for a long time, with few exceptions. RAGE is one of those exceptions. Aside from video driver troubles early on, RAGE has a lot to offer and seems like a game inside of a game, inside of a game. This isn't a review, but more of a personal musing on the game itself. So, take off your armor and come on in for some fun.
