Olympus OM-D E-M5, Officially Announced

olympus om d-e m5Micro Four Third cameras have recently taken the spotlights since the compact camera segment is losing market shares, thanks to the rise of Smartphones. We are pleased to see the Olympus OM-D E-M5, the new “top of the line” camera in Olympus’ micro four third lineup. It is inspired by the famous Olympus SLR OM series, which is a classic. The OM-D E-M5 boasts a 16.1-megapixel Live MOS Sensor, which has a higher resolution than the sensor used in the Olympus E-Pen EPL3?s (12.3 MP) . Samsung Infuse 4G Gingerbread update put on hold

Samsung Infuse 4G

Remember the Gingerbread update for the Samsung Infuse 4G that was promised last week? It looks like things haven’t gone according to plan. Judging by a notice on the download page, it looks like the update went live and then was taken offline. Apparently “there is an issue with the Infuse 4G update that affects a small number of users.” ? we’re not sure if this means only a small number of users downloaded the update and were infected, or a large number of users downloaded it but only a handful experienced problems with the update. Regardless, Samsung and AT&T are aware of the problem and are working on a fix now.

This isn’t the first time an Android update has gone wrong, but I really do think carriers and phone manufacturers should do a lot more testing to prevent such mishaps in the future. How many of you managed to download the update last week, and have you been experiencing any issues? Do drop us a comment below.

Sony trademarks Xperia Sola

Xperia SolaIt looks like one of Sony’s upcoming phones is going to be named the Xperia Sola. How do we know? Well, the company recently filed a trademark application of the aforementioned name with the US Patent and Trademark Office. According to reports, the application refers to “mobile phones and accessories” so that much we’re certain of. Other than that, no additional details have been revealed so there’s no way of telling if it’s going to be the final name of one of the previously leaked Sony devices, or it’s something brand new that we’ve never seen before.

Perhaps, a solar powered smartphone? I guess we’ll just have to wait for MWC in a few weeks to find out more.

QNAP TS-879U-RP NAS Network Storage Rack Server

How much is too much? For those who tend to answer ...it's never enough! there is the QNAP TS-879U-RP Turbo NAS. With eight 3.5 drive bays available, there is a potential for 24TB of storage and transfer rates of more than 10 Gb/s. That's ten times more data than any home PC can pump through its ubiquitous GbE network interface, and twenty times faster than what the latest generation of SSDs can muster. This is for people who have serious data appetites and deep pockets. The cost to fill this unit up with HDDs, in the early days of 2012, is enough to give some people pause; for most business owners, it's a small and necessary cost.

NZXT Switch 810 Full-Tower Computer Case

What is it that you should look for in a computer case, exactly? The market is full of many different styles with plenty of different features and the prices range from next-to-nothing to arm-and-a-leg. NZXT is a company that tries hard to please gamers and enthusiasts and their products reflect that.
