Reuters reports that ARM (a mobile processor maker) will show a working cellphone concept running on Google’s Android OS. That should happen next week at the Mobile World Congress (3GSM) show in Barcelona. There are other Android prototype out there, but we don’t mind looking at another one.
The real game changer in the wireless industry is the ongoing wireless spectrum auction. If Google gets it, older wireless carriers will probably be upset.

The fact that such a large eBook store starts to feature non-DRM (unprotected) files, may signal a shift that is similar to what’s happening to the music industry now. There is a huge demand from consumers for unprotected files, mainly because it annoys the paying customers and doesn’t really protect the publishers from piracy anyways.
It is interesting to see that unprotected eBooks from unknown writers often sell more than protected titles from famous authors. That might lead one to think that DRM really hinders sales.

February 7th is the official European launch date for the Palm Centro, the company’s entry-level smartphone powered by Palm OS. It is one of Palm’s bright spot in a very competitive market – the device has been met with enthusiasm by critics because it is cheap (with a service contract), although other smartphones like the Blackjack II are becoming really cheap as well.

Google pokes Microsoft in the eye (again) by releasing the Team Edition of its applications. Users can join using their corporate email addresses and see other users from the same company. Users can invite others within the company to collaborate on Google Apps Team Edition.
Users can share documents with any or all employees of the company, and manage shared calendar in a way that is close to Outlook Exchange.
Google hopes to that invites for the team edition will flow just like ?zombies? invitations on Facebook and it?s not hard to predict that small businesses might pick this up to save on their IT budget. Video in the full post

The Wall Street Journal benchmarked the solid state drive (SDD) of the MacBook Air against the hard disk drive (HDD) version. Unlike what one would expect, the battery life is only 5 minutes higher. When it comes to boot-up time, the SDD performs 40% faster, but given that the HDD boots in less than a minute, so the perceived gains aren?t worth the extra cost.
Anantech did benchmark the battery, and here are the raw results:
It?s actually pretty good in my opinion. my Vaio SZ dies a lot faster than that, regardless of what I do.

Clickondetroit is reporting (watch video) that a kid has been burned when his PSP battery overheated and burned a hole in the pocket’s pants. The child has been hospitalized but he is now back to school.
The local fire department is trying to figure out what happened and why the battery overheated – to the point of melting the device’s case. Ironically, the game in the console was… “Burnout.
