Ask any parent what a toddler or young child will do when armed with a box of crayons and they will most probably tell you that the wallpaper will be the first thing to go, given a child's natural inclination to explore his/her environment. Philips aims to fulfil that psychological development need without incurring extra costs like purchasing new wallpaper by developing a Drag and Draw technology. This unique technology enables one to project virtual drawings onto the wall via various multicolor tools like a brush, an eraser, and a magic wand. As to whether it will be as affordable as a box of crayons is another matter altogether.

Drinkers are a naturally slothy lot, so it is no surprise to see gadgets geared towards drinkers that encourage a slow-motion life. The Lazydrinker is aptly named, and this ice chest is a computer controlled mixed cocktail dispensing device that can hold over a dozen ingredients, mixing the relevant ones to make the perfect drink every time. All you need to do is to key in the poison of your choice via a laptop and wait for the Lazydrinker to whip up your order. The database contains over 5,000 drinks, so you will have to go through many a drunken night before exhausting the list. What makes the Lazydrinker even more interesting is you can daisy chain multiple units just in case a certain ingredient runs out on one unit. I'm sorry butler, but you just have got to go. Prices start from $450 upwards.

At times, I feel that cellphones have gotten too small for their own good that even a vibrating function doesn't work that well in alerting you. This Cellular Pen ensures that you never miss a call ever again despite having your handset on silent mode, as it comes with a LED that lights up and flashes crazily whenever it detects an incoming call. Of course, since it costs $5, there isn't any way for the pen to detect incoming calls from your phone only, so you could end up looking like a fool 'answering' your phone when it is actually the person next to you receiving an actual call. Alternatively, you can always use the Cellular Pen to great effect when putting down your John Hancock.

USB webcams come in all shapes and sizes, but rarely do we see a case of separation at birth as evident by this USB Robot Cam. When placed side by side with Honda's uber expensive Asimo, the similarities start to shine. The USB Robot Cam, however, features white LED eyes and red LED ears that light up whenever the surrounding brightness is at a low level. Don't expect anything more than the standard VGA resolution results to come with the USB Robot Cam though. I suppose you can sit this $24 webcam atop your monitor comfortably without any problems whatsoever.

Here's a little something to lift your spirits after a long day at work - and the picture says it all. I don't really agree with the fact that bloggers have bad haircuts, after all you can't really pin that down on those fashion-related blogs, can you? Ok, break's over. Back to regular programming.

Nearly everyone and their dog in the developed world has an iPod, which explains the deluge of third party iPod docks that flood the market. Philips is not averse to this trend offering the DCP850 portable DVD player that comes with an iPod dock, enabling you to enjoy movies on its 8.5" widescreen display that eclipses the iPod's small display by far and large. Features include Dolby Digital speakers, support for DVDs, CDs, MP3 and even DivX files for a wide range of playback options. Unfortunately, battery life tanks at a mere 2.5 hours, relegating this to being connected to an AC charger for the better part of its life. The Philips DCP850 retails for a shade under $200.

The world isn't lacking in resources, it is just that we humans have tilted the balance in favor of the rich and powerful. There is in fact more than enough water and food to go around the world, but somewhere along the way the distribution model screws up, hence obesity in certain countries and famine in another. Environmental Designworks has developed a special bathroom sink to help you do your part in conserving water. This unique creation is a bathroom sink that actually sits on your toilet's water tank, so that whatever water you use will end up in the tank for flushing purposes. The Sinkpositive Tank Lid kit retails for $99, but better throw in a few more dollars to purchase toothbrush covers if you plan to install one in your home.

Will Big Brother be keeping a close eye on everyone in the near future? The answer could be in the affirmative with news of wireless chips being embedded in shoes across Europe. These shoes will feature wafer-thin RFID chips that were specifically designed for use in footwear, enabling check-out clerms to quickly deactivate tagged products. If that is the main intention, why shoes? Why not extend it to the rest of the items in the store as well? After all, we consumers can't really argue against what goes into our shoes, can we? Hopefully these RFID tags won't contain anything more sinister than the intended purpose.

Malaysian Tzy Wen has received a cease and desist letter from Apple's lawyers for uploading a video of his version of the upcoming iPhone interface on YouTube, claiming that this is a copyright infringment. Don't you think that this is pretty absurd considering the video was filed at home, showing an interface which was programmed by Tzy Wen himself and installed on a piece of hardware which he is the owner of? After all, the final interface isn't even the same as Apple's yet to be released iPhone. Is Apple running scared that their highly prized IP is being experimented upon by programming enthusiasts? I think the cease and desist letter is definitely a bullying tactic that Apple should be ashamed of.

HoMedics has released the iSoundSpa, presumably a device that kickstarts your day with your favorite tunes on your iPod thanks to a built-in iPod dock. If you think that waking up to the sounds of a beleaguered Britney Spears is pure torture, there is always the option to use other available functions such as the radio, a beep tone, or even an array of nature sounds (ocean, rain, night, waterfall, brook, and sunrise - although I think those sounds make it even harder to wake up). Whenever your iPod is docked, the iSoundSpa will automatically charge it. The current time can be viewed on the LCD display or as a projection on the ceiling. Interested parties will be able to pick up the iSoundSpa for $80.
