Sharp has increased its SB series of LCD HDTVs to the mass market with three new models that come in 42", 46" and 52" screen sizes. These are also known by the model numbers of LC-52SB55U, LC-46SB54U and LC-42SB45U. All three will come with full HD resolution and encased in a glossy piano-black bezel, which means you'd best keep a cleaning cloth nearby for you to clear all those fingerprints from awestruck and curious visitors to your home. Features on all three include integrated ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners, at least two HDMI inputs, and two HD component terminals. The LC-52SB55U, LC-46SB54U and LC-42SB45U will retail for $2,299.99, $1,699.99 and $1,399.99, respectively. [Press Release]

The new Epson P-6000 and P-7000 multimedia storage viewers work great if you tend to take plenty of photos wherever you go. The 4" LCD display is bigger than most digital camera displays, allowing you to view your shots and making the choice to store or delete those images without having to hook up to a computer first. Only SD and CF memory card slots are supported, so it would've been nice to see Epson include more types. Supported image, video and audio formats include JPEG, DivX and MP3/AAC, respectively. Download speeds have been bumped up to make this 35% faster compared to its predecessor. You will be able to pick up the 80GB Epson P-6000 for $599 while the 160GB P-7000 will cost an additional $200.

Pioneer engineers seem to love breaking barriers as they unveil a 500GB optical disc, throwing in an additional 100GB compared to the earlier 16-layer optical disc. This time round, you will get 25 layers crammed inside, and it can be manufactured to function just fine with Blu-ray players. I'm not too sure what to do with all that space on a single disc - perhaps Sony can release 20 full HD movies on a single disc in order to save on shipping costs? It will take around two to four years before this new optical disc is made available to the general public, making me wonder who is brave enough to be an early adopter when this is released.

With more and more people growing up in cramped spaces across overpopulated cities in the world, it makes sense for a room to have more than one function. Enter the Woonbox - a house built for temporary stay, offering the functions of a residential shower, toilet and kitchen without taking up triple the floor space. This highly mechanized and mobile 'house' (if I may classify it as that) comes with several compartments that are unveiled only where required and stashed away when you don't need it. Perfect for offices, parks as well as tiny containers that some construction workers live in. Hopefully the plumbing on this thing works fine, otherwise you'd end up with a pretty stinky kitchen.

Somebody crown Bob Dullam with the award for the most creative Batman fanboy - our man has actually constructed a fully working Batman Tumbler from scratch, using nothing more than pictures and extra features from the DVD to flesh out this mean machine. It looks pretty much like the real thing, and will be a once-in-a-lifetime project, so forget about having Bob mass produce these for rabid Batman fans. According to Bob, all the parts "are scratch built, cept' tires, rims, brakes, engine, etc.. meaning all bodyparts, brackets, just about everything external on the car. Yes, I will do a batpod, and TDK suit for myself. I love building this stuff." Can't wait to see how his Batpod would be like.

It was only a matter of time before the folk at Colorware perform their magic on the iPhone 3G. Instead of black and white color options, you can now fork out another $150 to Colorware in order to get that shade which you've always wanted, making you stand out from the rest of the pack. Of course, throwing in another $20 will result in a customized button and frame as well. Which color will you choose?

Apple has six newly granted patents that cover various subject matters such as speech synthesis, MacBook and iPod lanyard designs, a new iPhone stand/dock, backlighting for notebooks and compensation circuitry. Of course, not all patents will translate to an actual product, but then again it is interesting to see how some of these might be integrated incto current and future designs. The iPhone stand/dock is, as far as I know, still unreleased, so we might see that coming from certified third party peripheral manufacturers in the near future. Read the source for a much more detailed explanation on all six patents.

The Nissan Mori electric scooter that you see here looks way too kiddy-like to be used by adults, so I suspect that sales will be pretty limited if it ever rolls off a production line. What makes the Nissan Mori interesting, however, is the ability to suit the rider by adjusting itself, while all mechanical and maintenance issues are managed by the on-board computer. Being powered by electricity, there is also a lower impact on the environment, making this the perfect personal transportation device to have in crowded, metropolitan cities. How much are you willing to pay for something like this?
