I just blogged about digital picture frames last week and lo and behold my bud Dave Zatz pointed out to me someone’s Macgyvered themselves their own Flickr-enabled digital picture frame. Cool! Even cooler, Gizmodo and others (including Sling Media) joined forces to make a little contest. All you have to do is tag some of your [...]

Looks like Elmo isn't just some toy to be tickled with, but a company that has recently lifted the veil on its micro video camera system, the Suv-Cam. This miniscule camera measures approximately 3.3" long and can be mounted near the chest. A 2.2" color TFT LCD monitor is attached to the camera, making it perfect as a handheld or body-worn surveillance device. Video is recorded in MPEG format, although there are no further details available concerning the storage capacity of the Suv-Cam. There is no word on price and availability as at press time.

ATI's upcoming R600 graphics card has an ace up its sleeve in by being compliant with the new Vista requirements, making it able to send sound directly over a HDCP/HDMI link - something its bitter rival cannot do at the moment despite having a much superior graphical performance. This is a full fledged HD sound setup and not one of those pansy 2.1 channel setups. The R600 combines both audio and video streams, outputting them over HDCP infected links. Looks like the R600 will be the killer application where home theater applications are concerned.

Ezex has recently launched its Navzen N700 GPS navigation device at CeBIT 2007, and this machine pretty much packs everything inside. Let's begin with the lovely 7" touchscreen TFT LCD display that can display a maximum resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, an SD memory card slot, NAND Flash memory, an integrated FM transmitter, a sensitive GPS engine, USB 2.0 On-The-Go and Bluetooth connectivity, and multimedia playback functions. All these are powered by a 500MHz processor running on Windows CE.Net (version unknown). I don't know about you, but the Navzen N700 definitely looks very sweet. Pricing and availability details are unknown.

The special CF-IDE Hard Drive Adapters enable anyone to turn a couple of Compact Flash memory cards into an impromptu hard drive once they're plugged into the device. This means any laptop or equipment that utilizes a 2.5" IDE hard drive can easily swap it for a low power, shock resistant and skip-free CF card. The OS doesn't really care about the type of media, identifying it as an ordinary hard drive. The Dual CF-IDE Hard Drive Adapter features a secondary CF slot that acts as the slave position of the IDE channel, enabling you to double the ante when it comes to portable storage. There is no word on pricing or availability at the moment.
