Adults just aren't getting the whole social
networking thing... apparently

social_networking.jpg

I would like to know what constitutes 'being an adult', because technically you begin adulthood from the tender age of 18 (ahh the memories)? Technically, at 24 I'm considered as a responsible adult (no matter how much my inner child likes to reveal itself) and I am all about the social networks. As far as I'm aware, social networks are ram packed with 18 to let's say 30 year olds, so I'm thinking the majority of these oblivious folk are a tad older than that, and I use the word 'tad' lightly (or am I being too presumptuous?).

Sony PSP 3000 Battery Life Not As Touted

Sony PSP 3000 Battery Life Not As Touted

Sony has gone back on their initial trumpet blowing, chest beating press release by touting that the PSP-3000 have the same battery life as the PSP-2000, although Sony America's hardware marketing director John Koller did mention that "we should expect shorter battery life in the PSP 3000, perhaps as much as 20 to 30 minutes shorter." He has made a 180-degree U-turn now with his latest statement, "I’d like to make a correction and clarify that the new PSP will have equivalent battery life to the current PSP, about four to six hours for games and about four to five hours for UMD videos." Maybe our readers who have the PSP-3000 can just let us know the results.

AOpen AME-100 SATA Enclosure

AOpen AME-100 SATA Enclosure

AOpen has just introduced its 2.5" SATA hard drive external enclosure known as the AME-100. It is constructed from aluminum and connects to your computer via USB 2.0, which means a maximum theoretical transfer speed of 480Mbps. Each purchase of the AME-100 comes with a USB 2.0 Y-cable, a leather HDD wallet, necessary screws and a screwdriver to get you started. It requires two USB 2.0 ports to plug into, where one is used for the power while the other is meant for data. No idea on pricing though.

iPod nano 4G Clone

iPod nano 4G Clone

Strange that the iPod nano 4G is not out yet, but enterprising folk from China have already come up with cloned versions as seen here. Since it does not have the mandatory Apple logo and lack non-apple software, this must be released to fleece people who don't frequent gadget sites. No idea on the specifications, but always wait for an official announcement or release of a device before you make a purchase to make sure that everything's legit.

Canon EOS Teaser

Canon EOS Teaser

The French web site of Canon has already lifted its skirt to tease the masses who are clamoring for a brand new EOS digital camera. Which model do you think this is? The EOS 7D? Do you prefer companies to release teasers such as these before a full product announcement, or do you like it straight and hard without beating around the bush a week before?

Dell To Dispose Off Factories

Dell To Dispose Off Factories

Dell is currently trying to sell all its factories to contract electronics manufacturers - at least that's what the Wall Street Journal reported this morning. Apparently, Dell is keen to dispose of most, if not all, of its factories within one and a half years. As for the remaining factories, those will close, and Dell will take the outsourcing route where PC production is concerned. Contract manufacturers will be happy at this news, but what will happen to all those people working in Dell factories at the moment? The global economy isn't looking to steady at this point in time, and with factories closing, the downward spiral ain't gonna stop. Folks working in Dell factories throughout Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, Ireland, India, China, Brazil, Malaysia and Lodz, Poland ought to take note.
