MSI has just showed off their Android overclocking utility known as the Afterburner, where it was co-developed by MSI and well-known software programmer “Nick Connors”. The new Afterburner utility will allow Android-based smartphones as well as tablets to adjust or monitor Afterburner settings on a PC thanks to an existing Wi-Fi connection. This means you can now check out your rig’s temperature, voltage and fan speed, in addition to overclocking and overvoltaging the device.

There is nothing quite like leaks to flood the Internet these days where new and upcoming devices are concerned, and we do wonder at times whether these are just publicity stunts, or are they genuine fruits of industrial espionage. Well, for those who are looking forward to picking up the Motorola Droid 3, you would do well to take heed of a bunch of leaked tutorial videos that have been released, and all of them seem to have an official stamp from Verizon Wireless themselves.

MSI has laid out their spread of C Series of multimedia notebooks over at Computex 2011 with the CX480 and CX640 models, where they will sport Intel 2nd generation Core i processors and AMD’s new generation processor platform. The CX480 will come with a 15.6″ display, while the CX640 is slightly smaller at 14″. With nVidia’s GeForce GT520M discrete graphics card running inside, you can be sure that when it comes to graphical performance, you won’t find either model to be a slouch – of course, don’t expect these to be desktop replacements, but they are no pushovers, either.

The iPhone 4 is not alone in terms of the classic death grip syndrome, where the signal drops suddenly to nothing when you hold the handset in a certain way, perhaps due to how the device is engineered. It is the HTC Sensation’s turn now, as Nordic Hardwares tests have pointed towards the HTC Sensation suffering from a similar fate, but this one goes a step further – it will also affect both Bluetooth connectivity as well as Wi-Fi.
The area of problem? Its back cover, as the Sensation lacks a true unibody design unlike HTC’s claims, but will instead rely on a relatively large removable battery cover that is mostly prefabricated out of metal, complete with plastic areas that function as antennas. These pieces will experience a noticeable drop in performance whenever your hand covers it, especially affecting both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios.

MSI’s N560GTX-Ti Hawk graphics card will definitely appeal to all of you computer performance enthusiasts who are on a tight budget – after all, it isn’t as expensive as the high end GTX580, and yet is still the new world record holder for a single-card with the highest core frequency of 1500MHz. This is made possible thanks to Belgian overclocker Massman who relied on the N560GTX-Ti Hawk, tweaking it to his heart’s content so that it can touch the 1500MHz mark, setting a new single-card world record for the GTX 560 Ti GPU on 3DMark 11 in the process.

There is a quartet of store listings over at Italian online shop F2F, where they let slip Sony’s plans to release an upgraded VAIO Z model in Europe, namely the VAIO Z21. All four models will rely on Sandy Bridge-era Core processors, coupled with extremely speedy SSD storage solutions, a fingerprint reader for security purposes as well as integrated 3G connectivity so that you need not subject yourself to the whims and fancies of Wi-Fi hotspot availability. Of course, that might just mean having to subscribe to yet another data line, which some of you might not be so willing to do so.

MSI knows that their N580GTX Lightning graphics card is, well, lightning fast, but who would have thought that it would actually break the single-card, single-core world record? After all, it has been officially recorded to hit a core frequency of 1665MHz, making it the highest frequency ever achieved by the GTX 580 range, while touching a score of 2501.96 that would make it be the world record holder of the Unigine Heaven (DX11) single-card single-core as well.
