[CES 2011] Sony Ericsson have just unveiled the new Xperia arc Android smartphone today. This Android phone will be running Gingerbread (Android 2.3) on an extra wide 4.2″ multi-touch screen. According to the official press release, “The best of Sony technology is inside Xperia arc.” Looks like this phone is mean to represent the top of the line of the Xperia family. The Xperia arc packs a “Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine to deliver exceptional visual brilliance and a crystal clear image which enhances the overall entertainment experience.” It also packs Sony’s Exmor R for mobile sensor with the f/2.4 lens for high quality and bright pictures and HD videos even in low light. It also supports HDMI output for you to share your HD videos and photographs using a HDTV. With a slim profile and a curved back, this device sure looks like one sexy beast. [CES 2011] SanDisk deals a whole lot more with hardware than software, but this time around we will take a look at the SanDisk SecureAccess Software. Boasting a password-protected ?vault? which will automatically secures files with 128-bit AES encryption, this software does its bit in delivering protection against unauthorized access just in case your USB flash drive (a SanDisk, presumably) is lost or stolen. The use of a secure partition allows consumers to determine which files remain private when sharing a USB drive with colleagues or friends. Another benefit would include protection against computer crashes and data loss that is available as an option for users with up to 2GB of secure online backup from Dmailer. Basically, you can access online data anytime, anywhere, remotely, while sharing large files over the cloud.

[CES 2011] There have been rumors lately regarding the new PEN E-PL2, a compact interchangeable lens camera from Olympus, so I was eager to get my hands on it and I was even more curious about its unique ?Medusa-like? accessory. The good looking 12.3 megapixel digital camera features a f3.5/5.6 28mm-84 mm (equivalent) MSC lens with a high speed and silent autofocus, which is great when you shoot video. Additionally, the Micro Four Thirds Olympus flagship offers 720p video capture, good performance in low light with an increased ISO sensitivity (6400), access to the user friendly GUI in photo and video mode, the addition of two new Art filters and an improved face and eye detection feature (iDetect).

[CES 2011] The first Android device to be revealed is the Atrix 4G. Motorola have branded it as “the world’s most powerful smartphone” and it’s for a good reason. It packs a dual-core processor and a whopping 1GB of RAM, but that’s not all. The Atrix 4G can be placed in a dock to become some sort of minicomputer ? you can output the phone’s screen onto a HDTV with a HDMI cable, you can connect a mouse and keyboard to the device as well and have a fully functioning computer. In this mode, the phone will run a special full-screen version of Android. Now that’s innovation! The Atrix 4G can also be inserted into a laptop dock to turn the phone into a smartbook. Possibilities with this phone seem endless. But it looks like they started the show with the best device. More devices after the break:
