[CES 2011] SanDisk deals a whole lot more with hardware than software, but this time around we will take a look at the SanDisk SecureAccess Software. Boasting a password-protected ?vault? which will automatically secures files with 128-bit AES encryption, this software does its bit in delivering protection against unauthorized access just in case your USB flash drive (a SanDisk, presumably) is lost or stolen. The use of a secure partition allows consumers to determine which files remain private when sharing a USB drive with colleagues or friends. Another benefit would include protection against computer crashes and data loss that is available as an option for users with up to 2GB of secure online backup from Dmailer. Basically, you can access online data anytime, anywhere, remotely, while sharing large files over the cloud.
[CES 2011] The speed game continues with SanDisk announcing what they deem to be the fastest high-capacity CompactFlash card in the world – the SanDisk Extreme Pro, carrying with it a whopping 128GB of storage space as well as write speeds of up to 100MB/s. Not only that, it will come with a Power Core controller and UDMA-7 interface, making it more than apt to deliver kind of the performance demanded by high-end DSLR cameras. Specially targeting professional photographers and videographers, the 128GB SanDisk Extreme Pro is extremely suitable for imaging applications that require full HD 1920×1080 resolution, up to 50Mbps bit rate and 4:2:2 color sampling. You can already place a pre-order for the 128GB SanDisk Extreme Pro CompactFlash card if you’re stoked after reading this, where it will hit worldwide markets sometime in the first quarter for $1,499.99. Now that’s a whole lot of money to pay for some memory, but the quality you’ll get inside cannot be found anywhere else – for the moment, at least.

[CES 2011] There have been rumors lately regarding the new PEN E-PL2, a compact interchangeable lens camera from Olympus, so I was eager to get my hands on it and I was even more curious about its unique ?Medusa-like? accessory. The good looking 12.3 megapixel digital camera features a f3.5/5.6 28mm-84 mm (equivalent) MSC lens with a high speed and silent autofocus, which is great when you shoot video. Additionally, the Micro Four Thirds Olympus flagship offers 720p video capture, good performance in low light with an increased ISO sensitivity (6400), access to the user friendly GUI in photo and video mode, the addition of two new Art filters and an improved face and eye detection feature (iDetect).
Interesting optional accessories can be purchased to enhance the photo creation experience:
[CES 2011] Phones aren’t the only devices around that come in a slider form factor, as USB flash drives do adopt the same approach from time to time as well. One of the models we’re talking about would be the SanDisk Cruzer Edge USB flash drive, where it comes in a compact package for easy portability, letting you tote around just about any file of your choice – although that would be limited to 16GB at most (starting from 4GB upwards), with prices starting from an extremely low, low price of $12.99, going all the way to $79.99 for quadruple the amout of storage space. One main advantage we love about slider USB flash drives? There isn’t any cap that you have to worry about losing.

[CES 2011] The first Android device to be revealed is the Atrix 4G. Motorola have branded it as “the world’s most powerful smartphone” and it’s for a good reason. It packs a dual-core processor and a whopping 1GB of RAM, but that’s not all. The Atrix 4G can be placed in a dock to become some sort of minicomputer ? you can output the phone’s screen onto a HDTV with a HDMI cable, you can connect a mouse and keyboard to the device as well and have a fully functioning computer. In this mode, the phone will run a special full-screen version of Android. Now that’s innovation! The Atrix 4G can also be inserted into a laptop dock to turn the phone into a smartbook. Possibilities with this phone seem endless. But it looks like they started the show with the best device. More devices after the break:
