It seems that everyone is coming out with their own version of a touchscreen, keyless phone these days. ASUS apparently is no exception with their own announcement of the ASUS Aura, however their phone also has a QWERTY keypad...

Add to myYahoo! We've seen phones before that allow you to take both traditional landline calls and VoIP calls on the same handset, but we haven't seen many devices like this D-Link Skype USB Phone Adapter that bring VoIP to the landline...

Swatch designers do not only create fun and fashionable timepieces, but they have also come up with a concept Swatch PMP watch. The result of designer Pierre Merlet's imagination, the Swatch Infinity takes on a bracelet-style digital watch form factor with a removable face and integrated portable media player functions. Since there is no built-in camera in sight, the Swatch Infinity will probably double up as an impromptu voice recorder. Like its namesake, the Infinity will probably take forever to come out as long as it remains a concept.

iHearSafe places a very high priority on their customer's hearing as evident by the product range on offer. They have already released a pair of earbuds for kids, and are now developing a couple more headphones which were designed to negate hearing loss while listening to your favorite tunes on any portable audio player. The first pair, dubbed the iHearSafe Sport, is worn behind the neck to ensure it does not get out of place during intense physical activities, while the iHearSafe Clip earbuds target those who want to go against the grain in terms of design and functionality. Both new models will never hit above 80dB no matter how high you turn the volume up in order to preserve your hearing.

If you have a little extra dough on the side that you want to throw around, why not spend it on the Utopia Steam Shower? The very word Utopia itself denotes a complete and perfect happiness, which is what the Steam Shower provides (almost, at least). Retailing for approximately $6,800, the Utopia Steam Shower comprises of two units - a shower and a sauna. The shower unit comes with all the standard trappings along with an indented seating that boasts half a dozen back jets and a couple of overheads, while the sauna provides a personalized spa experience. Sounds like a great Valentine's gift to me.

Having a waterproof iPod case is fine and dandy, but what happens when you prefer to listen to your tunes in private instead of blaring it over an iPod dock by the poolside? The answer is deceptively simple in the form of Aquapac's 100% Waterproof Headphones. Aquapac claims that these headphones offer superior sound quality in and around water, so you can now perform your backstroke swim while jamming to some Jimi Hendrix. One point to ponder though - unless you go out to the pool all by yourself, you won't really need this pair of headphones in a social setting. A pair will set you back by $75.

Back in the early days of 14.4kbps modems were all the rage, all I had to remember was my dial-up username and password. These days, I have at least a gazillion e-mail accounts to keep track of, a few bank accounts, an online trading account, eBay, PayPal, and the exhaustive list goes on. What better way to ditch away the convoluted password system by using NecSoft's new authentication software? The BiodeLogon system uses a webcam to capture a shot and matches it to the assigned user photo. Changing your password requires a simple haircut or something more radical like plastic surgery. Too bad there are still many questions that go unanswered - what about twins? Can somebody else use a photo of my mug to access my account? If I want to change my password, I must key in an existing password. Does that mean I will have to let the webcam take my snapshot, and hurriedly go off for a bald haircut, and come back to confirm the new password?

Kodak has something up their sleeves, but their executives aren't exactly revealing what it is exactly yet. Word on the street is, it is some form of new inkjet printer that will come with much cheaper refills. We all know how expensive using an inkjet can get over the long run with constant refills, so any news of a more affordable refill option would definitely be more than welcome. Would this new-fangled printer actually beat out the Zink in terms of affordability? Let's just kee our fingers crossed and wait for the rumor to (hopefully) become fact.

Telecom Italia and Polymer Vision have agreed to manufacture a rollable display device that targets the global mobile market sometime this year. Based on the Readius concept, this Cellular Book will be used mainly for reading papers, books, as well as personal data. The Cellular Book measures smaller than the average cellphone and boasts a 5" display with 16 levels of grey. You will need to unroll it before use, and will require the user to read it in brightly lit conditions as there is no backlight. Data will be sent to users via EDGE/UMTS. There is no word on pricing as at press time. With Vista's SideShow ability to perform somewhat akin to the Cellular Book (albeit the much smaller screen), will this idea take off?

Add to myYahoo!DEMO 2007 ? We have already published about the DAVE, but I could get my hands on it at DEMO 07. The demo on stage did not work (what a nightmare for Rob Pait (photo), Seagate Director for Global Consumer Electronics Marketing !)? but was working at the booth. DAVE is a pocket-size wireless hard drive (10 Gb or 20 GB) that comes with a USB port and a power button, the users can connect DAVE and compatible mobile phones via Bluetooth 2.0 (self-install), offering them on-the-go access to their media content on one device.
According to Seagate, other applications include download from mobile services through the phone, sideload from PC via USB-to-go or Wi-Fi, receive and share with other DAVE devices. I cannot wait to have it compatible with my digital SLR (with WiFi), my life at DEMO would be so much better! For the future, I am seeing more mobile devices with tiny hard drives embedded and huge capacities?
Coming soon, Rob Pait interview about DAVE on uberpulse.com
