Pei-Hua Huang has put up a concept cellphone at Yanko Design, bringing the world a little closer with the "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) cellphone. This unique handset comes with a transparent upper section that doubles up as a photo viewfinder (a very large one at that!), doing away with the need to get the image filtered through an LCD display and hence its name. Features of this concept includes a full QVGA touchscreen display which adjusts itself according to your needs and a 3 megapixel camera. Man, this would seriously give the iPhone a run for its money if only it was real.

Powerpal recently exhibited its battery pack at CeBIT 2007, where each purchase comes with a variety of interchangeable connector tips that enable you to charge a variety of devices from cellphones to iPods on a single AA battery. Now this is pretty useful since AA batteries are pretty much universal and extremely affordable, but the question remains - how much juice can a single AA battery provide for your device?

Ko-sin Printing from Tokyo is has successfully developed a printing process that enables authors to add a personal touch to their printed works by utilizing ink that includes their DNA. Sounds morbid? Yeah, I know, but the DNA is extracted from a human hair or nail sample by the author which is subsequently blended with a special ink to be used in the printing process later. I'm not sure how this will affect readership when it comes to books, but as far as I'm concerned its just a novelty. Imagine the latest J. K. Rowling novel emblazoned in red, bold letters in front - "Reads better with DNA!"

The "Human Player" toy is a reverse take on the hugely popular Tamagotchi. It requires you to answer 50 questions in the beginning, resulting in a digital avatar that resembles you based on the data given. There will be 22 personality offshoots for you to nestle in comfortably, and you will be able to interact with up to 16 other digital people via IR. With music and video going digital, why not digitize people as well? Imagine dissing someone in a digital environment - at the very basic level it will just be "You 1100011010101101!" followed by fistcuffs.

Add to myYahoo! So you've considered the most expensive Apple desktop and themost expensive PC desktop money can buy, but to be honest both seem to fall flat in the monitor department. That's where CineMassive steps in. The MasterPlex 24t sports a primary Center panel with 24" workspace and large 1920x1200 resolution, secondary 21.3" wing panels that deliver 1600x1200 pixels each, and...

Add to myYahoo!I made my first documentary when I was 13, so I'm not entirely shocked by the idea that the Butterfly mobile phone concept was designed by a 15 year old - and looks better and has more sensible design principles than most stuff coming out nowadays. Using existing tech such as Bluetooth and touchscreens (unlike many concepts which are doomed to remain concepts for lack of tech) and sporting an impressively polished interface, this is definitely my favourite non-existent phone to date. Add to myYahoo!I once had the good fortune to fly through an Aurora Borealis, which was an incredible rarity. However, if I got a Genso Kukan Aurora I could have the borealis playing over me while I steam some hams in the privacy of my own home. Using 3 AA batteries, it plays for 30 minutes at a time and can last for 20 hours. $61. [GT]

Add to myYahoo! Is it a Christmas ball with a crystal spider design? Or is it a disco ball with strangely sexual little black plastic nubs on it? No, they're the new mice from SolidAlliance. The third option is a silver pinball type with a blue crystal design, the ChoiWara Mouse L (meaning, "a little bit naughty" - the spider somehow means "a little bit super naughty), but the Shiny-Shiniest of the lot is of course the one encrusted with sparkle, the Choikawadeco Mouse (which means, "a little bit cute"). Described as "fashion" mice, they do look preposterously uncomfortable to use, like a drag queen version of the justly reviled Apple hockey puck mouse - but I suppose if being "a little bit cute" is your priority you're willing to suffer for beauty.
