Vodafone UK ought to get itself a new set of subscribers pretty soon, where most of them would probably be hankering after the Sony Ericsson X10. This is their first Android smartphone, where it will roll out with Android 1.6 (Donut) while being accompanied by a generous 4.0" WVGA (480x854) scratch-resistant capacitive screen, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 8.1-megapixel camera, and support for a slew of typical Android Google Mobile apps. Expect this handset to hit the market later this April, pricing details have yet to be revealed but we hope to get some skinny on that matter in due time.

Every now and then you hear whispers of a new touchscreen BlackBerry that will sport a physical QWERTY keyboard, and now the rumor is surfacing again, thanks to analyst Chris Umiastowski suggesting that such a device could be launched in Q3 this year. Apparently the device will offer a clickable screen, along with a physical keyboard and optical navigation pad. Would you be happy if RIM slapped a clickable touchscreen on this mythical BlackBerry, or would you rather have the traditional touchscreen that’s found on most devices? It’s also said that this device could offer RIM’s WebKit browser, so that’s certainly a plus point. Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you up to date on this device.

Expect to free the Cirrus3 like the plague if you were a plague virus yourself - after all, the manufacturer claims that this device is capable of striking fear into the figurative hearts of 99.9999% of pathogenic airborne and surface bacteria and viruses. We're putting our money on this being nothing more than your ordinary air filter, albeit it is a bit more heavy duty in its functionality by being suitable in public areas such as waiting rooms and lobbies. Depending on its size, this industrial-class air filter retails from £4,000 upwards.

GPS navigation systems are great for helping you find your way around in unfamiliar territory, but there is a downside to it - maps that are not updated could end up leading you to a dead end, or even worse - a ditch. According to Google Translate's version of a German article, TomTom’s CEO Harold Goddijn mentioned that TomTom will be offering daily map updates (or once every two days at least) by the end of 2010 to make sure that your TomTom device will never be outdated in terms of maps. After all, many roads do change each year, and having an official update sure makes us more confident compared to user compiled data.
