Hello Kitty camera blushes

Hello Kitty camera blushes Who would've figured out that this Hello Kitty camera by Sanrio would actually blush whenever you snap a photo? I guess this will elicit laughter from your subject (assuming it is a human) when they see Japan's most famous feline blush. This 5 megapixel shooter features a hidden lens in the center of Hello Kitty's bow along with a flash next to it. The $230 asking price is rather steep though, and there is no word on whether it will make it across the Pacific from Japan or not.

Electric eel powers Christmas tree

Electric eel powers Christmas tree Fancy that - a Christmas tree that is powered by an electric eel?! Where else can you find such zanyness but in Japan, where the Aqua Toto Gift Aquarium has sparked worldwide interest with its E-tree, whereby the "E" prefix stands for Electric Eel. This is really taking renewable energy to new heights. I wonder what will we have next - electric eel-powered boats? What about a baby electric eel-powered waterproof cellphone? Anyways, the copper wire in the eel's tank is what conducts electricity from the eel to the tree every time the sea creature brushes itself against the wire, zapping all those hanging baubles and ornaments to life.

Wine tasting game on the Nintendo DS

Wine tasting game on the Nintendo DS Surely by now the DS is famous for its quirky genre of games - and Wine no Hajimekata DS from Square Enix reinforces that notion. Wine no Hajimekata DS is a wine tasting game that lets you learn the ropes where tasting and pairing wines are concerned without getting you drunk in the process. What makes Wine no Hajimekata DS all the more special is the first 1,000 units will come with a bottle of Dourthe No. 1. Too bad there isn't word on plans for a localized version yet. Just in case Square Enix is reading this, how about coming up with similar games that help teach gamers the finer points of drinking beer, whiskey and other liquor? Next thing you know, the new DS makeover will feature a breathalyzer built right into its microphone.

Samsung does the easy with S760 & S860

Samsung does the easy with S760 & S860

Samsung announced a couple of entry-level digital cameras from its S Series, notably the S760 and S860. Both will feature a 3x optical zoom and a 2.4" LCD display in addition to digital image stabilization, ISO 1000, functions description and a self-shot mode. The main difference between the two lie in the megapixel count, with the S760 toting 7 megapixels while the S860 has a predictable 8 megapixels. Sounds pretty much like your standard point-and-shoot digital camera. The Samsung S760 will retail for approximately $165 while no pricing details have been released for the S860 as at press time. They'll miss the frenzied holiday season though as they'll be available only in January 2008 onwards, coming in a choice of black, silver, pink and blue colors.
