Sony VAIO SE and SA Series

As it was announced a month ago, today, Sony refreshed its Sony VAIO S Series lineup, with the addition of the full HD 15.5-inch model, the Sony VAIO SE, which aims at people who like to watch movies on their laptop.  Except for the larger screen size, the different storage capacity (500GB vs. 640GB), the battery life and the dedicated 10-key, the VAIO SE packs the same features as the smaller 13.3-inch (1600×900) Sony VAIO SA, with a thin design (under 1 inch), AMD Radeon Hybrid Graphics 6630M (up to 1GB VRAM) and the optional sheet battery that, according to the manufacturer, double the battery life (performance depends upon usage).

Additionally, both units boast Intel Core i5-2430M/2.40 Ghz processor with TurboBoost, 4GB DDR3 RAM (expandable to 8GB), Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) technology, optical drive (CD/DVD/burner), one USB 3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI out, SD card slot, Memory Stick Duo slot, VGA output, audio jack.
According to Sony, the VAIO SE offers up to 5.45 hours of battery life with default brightness, while the VAIO SA lasts s up to 7.15 hours with similar settings, please note that battery life highly depends on usage.

The Sony VAIO SE (Sony VAIO VPCSA3AFX/BI) weights 3.65 lbs and the Sony VAIO SA (Sony VAIO VPCSE13FX/B) weights 4.4 lbs, they both start at about $999.
