Sidekick LX

sk-lx-brown.jpg Sidekick LX

BGR has a handon with the new Sidekick LX

??the actual specs of the Sidekick LX have not drastically improved from the Sidekick 3, and a lot of naysayers have been ripping it a new you-know-what, but you really just have to use one yourself to appreciate it. It is definitely thinner and feels right when your typing, IMing, or MMSing on it. The speaker is ridiculously loud and clear, and the screen?wow. It?s just like the Sidekick Slide, except a whole lot bigger.?

All the Zunes, including the old 30GB first-gen, will get wireless syncing.

No more sore thumbs

No more sore thumbs
While hammering a nail in might sound easy for some, there are others who would rather face the shooting squad instead as their shaky hands and misplaced hammer hits are a fate worse than death. This concept "nail assist" device will help the cause of those who fall in the latter group - all you need to do is place the nail within the guide tube, position it where the nail is supposed to be, and hammer away. Since the large top makes it harder to miss, you can kiss goodbye to sore thumbs as well. Brilliant concept from Michael Harris - are there any hardware manufacturers out there who are willing to take up this cause?

HP Pavilion HDX9095EA Notebook

HP Pavilion HDX9095EA Notebook

HP piles on the features when it comes to the Pavilion HDX9095EA Entertainment Notebook. This desktop replacement concept certainly lives up to its name, as our friends at Trusted Reviews found out in their recent test run. They're very happy with the final results, although the only gripe would be the exclusion of a 1080p capable display despite the inclusion of a HD DVD drive. While that might be a deal breaker for some, most people would definitely find the HP Pavilion HDX9095EA Entertainment Notebook to be superior to many other 20" desktop replacements. It retails for £1,599, and with the dual-hinge concept, makes movie viewing on it all the more enjoyable. Might be a little bit pricey for ordinary users out there, but you get pretty much bang for your buck.

Wattson arrives in Britain at last

Wattson arrives in Britain at last

Looks like the Wattson has finally arrived on British shores, with London-based DIY Kyoto shipping orders. It will retail for £125 (approximately $254), making it way more expensive than other visual indicators where power conservation is concerned. A Stateside unit is currently in the works, and it will be sent for testing soon for proper compliance. To get more details on what the Wattson does, read our posts here and here for more context.

Samsung LN-T4665F makes it all clear

Samsung LN-T4665F makes it all clear

Samsung has the new LN-T4665F LCD TV that claims to provide clear images courtesy of its innovative S-PVA (Super Patterned Vertical Alignment) solution and a 178° wide-viewing angle. This means you will always get the best image possible whether you're watching the TV horizontally or vertically from most angles. Features include an 8ms response time, dynamic contrast that adjusts the backlight intensity automatically for a marked improvement in contrast, and a couple of HDMI connections which can be hooked up to your high definition DVD player and digital cable/satellite. No idea on how much it costs though, but do expect to fork out a premium compared to a vanilla LCD TV of similar size.

Zune 2 could take DRM-free route

Zune 2 could take DRM-free route

It is interesting to note that folks in Europe have not even picked up the first Zune, and word on the street already has it that the second Zune has already been confirmed Stateside. What's even more groundbreaking would be the news of Microsoft using DRM-free music to shift more Zunes - something that is the total opposite of the existing Zune sharing system that requires DRM. Should this news byte be true, it would definitely be nice to see this turnabout from Microsoft that will at least put it on equal footing with iTunes and Amazon's AmazonMP3 store.
