Sonos intends to introduce a smaller, self-contained alternative to the ZonePlayer S5, at least that is what we know from an FCC filing which was spotted recently. Chances are quite high that this will be known as the Play:3, where it seems destined to work with a nightstand – and not only that, it will most probably be a whole lot more budget-friendly compared to the S5 that costs a relatively expensive $400. The box does seem to come with a trio of separate drivers, where it will support Ethernet alongside wireless pairing to a ZoneBridge.

The integration of GPS technology into cameras are extremely useful – especially when you’ve taken a whole tour of Europe, and can’t really remember just where you were when that particular photo was taken. Well, Pentax has jumped aboard the GPS bandwagon with the O-GPS1 unit that will deliver basic location data alongside an array of original features. Meant for use only with Pentax digital SLR cameras (obviously), the Pentax O-GPS1 is capable of recording the latitude, longitude, altitude, coordinated universal time (UTC) and aspect of the location you are at.

Remember the movie, “Honey I Shrunk the Kids”? That was an interesting aspect of a dysfunctional family with a scientist at the helm. Well, fast forward to today with all of its modern technology, and we still have yet to create a time travel machine, a contraption which can trap ghosts inside, or even a shrinking gun. Not a real one, anyways, where a shrinking gun is concerned, since a team of engineers at the Southeast University in Nanjing, China, managed to come up with a device that will make a real spoon look smaller than it is in the virtual space.

There is no such thing as a free lunch in the world, but a free service? That sounds plausible, with Apple’s iCloud rumored to be made available to the masses for free before they start charging a $25 annual fee. Bear in mind that this is just speculation as at press time, and applies to iTunes Music Store customers. The Los Angeles Times did confirm earlier reports that pointed towards Apple having finalized contracts with the last of the major music labels, so it should be all systems go from now on.
Said report read, “The service initially will be offered for a free period to people who buy music from Apple’s iTunes digital download store. The company plans to eventually charge a subscription fee, about $25 a year, for the service.”

Who would’ve thought that we’d ever see online video games evolve beyond simple Flash apps and word games into high-quality blockbuster games that can be streamed to pretty much any device out there, without having to deal with obstacles such as system requirements? Well, OnLive did, and it looks like they’re doing pretty well with its service. It’s only been in the business for less than a year since its launch and it has hit an important milestone.
As of June 7th, OnLive will be adding its 100th game to its catalog, and that game will be Red Faction: Armageddon. It will be released on the service on the same day it hits all the other platforms it is released on. In addition to being the 100th game milestone for OnLive, it will also be OnLive’s first ever PC demo exclusive. PC gamers who want to try out the game will have to do it through OnLive’s exclusive service, a first for the company.
Growing at a rate of around 2 new games a week, OnLive’s gaming service should be enough to keep most gamers satisfied and coming back for more. Find out more about OnLive’s full game catalog on its website.

Where’s the one place in your house where you can escape from advanced technology? One of the most common answers will probably be the bathroom, where the only thing electronic would be the light bulb on the ceiling and maybe the heater you have to keep your water warm. Well, Hansgrohe plans to change all that with the introduction of its advanced shower computer system called RainBrain.
This state-of-the-art electronic shower system features a touchscreen panel that allows users to select their preferences in an easy virtual way ? no more fumbling around with knobs when your hands are wet and slippery from the soap. If you have a compatible device, the RainBrain can be used to control your music player or phone via Bluetooth for easy music switching without getting your device wet.
It even has presets for up to four different people so stepping into a shower and getting it to behave how you want it is just a touch away. And it also features an anti-scalding system to protect children and adults from being exposed to high temperature water blasts by accident. The RainBrain can be yours for $4,750. Head over to the Hansgrohe website for more details.

Want a little more NGP/Sony Vita goodness to satisfy your cravings after being exposed to some screenshots earlier today? Well, Sony has released some video footage of the console running Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048 and Sound Shapes. Boy, do the games look fantastic or what? Besides looking good, the new control schemes that involve the touchscreen and sensors on the device are pretty impressive as well ? they feel like well thought out and add to the fun and immersiveness of a game rather than detract from it. In addition to the games, Sony demonstrated the Augmented Reality (AR) features of the console would work. Hit the break to catch all 4 videos and let us know what you think about the games.
