Among many of the rumors circulating about the next installment of Microsoft?s gaming console, the next Xbox (720 maybe) codenamed ?Durango? will have a Blu-Ray Player and will also require an internet connection at all times while it is in use. According to VG247 (via CraveOnline), this lines up with previous purported rumors about the console and how Bill Gate?s corporation is trying to combat used game sales. How this is relevant is because a mandatory internet connection could possibly mean that games can be tethered to a specific console profile which might mean an end to its resale value.

T-Mobile Apologizes for Android Notification Bar

As we have previously reported, a photo taken by our friends over at TmoNews, showed that T-Mobile had sent out advertisements to some users’ Android based smartphones. An outcry broke out in several forums in what seemed to be T-Mobiles latest forage into mobile-based advertising. However, the issue has now come to a rest with T-Mobile clarifying the situation and stopping the advertisements.

According to the report by TmoNews, a T-Mobile spokesperson had sent them a statement stating that the carrier had discovered the cause of the Android notification bar ads and removed them. Apparently, the problem occurred during a recent software update, when a message to promote T-Mobile?s free VIP Zone was mistakenly sent to certain customers and it appeared on the notification bar of some of their Android devices.

After T-Mobile was made aware of their accident, the company worked to set everything in order, stopped the notifications and sent out a message to the public apologizing for the incident and bidding them a good weekend. Given that the issue took only 28 hours to resolve, T-Mobile does deserve some credit for their speed in handling the delicate situation not only with an apology but also with the stopping of the notifications.
