While Instagram has yet to be officially released for Android, if you were planning on getting your hands on the new HTC One series of Android smartphones, you might be appeased with HTC?s offerings in the camera department. It seems that thanks to the new HTC Sense 4 in the new HTC One smartphones, users will get 15 effects to play with via the default camera app on their new phones. These effects include distortion, vignette, depth of field, dots, mono, country, vintage, vintage warm, vintage cold, grayscale, sepia, negative, solarize, posterize and aqua. So far based on the sample shots we?ve seen (head on down to the source link below to view the rest of the photos), the filters and the quality of the photos look pretty good! So smartphone photographers out there, any of you guys planning on getting your hands on any of HTC?s One series of smartphones upon its release?

So April Fool?s was yesterday and it looks like a lot of companies had fun in their attempts to pull the wool over our eyes. Nokia was no exception as they had announced the Nokia Ice, which as you can see pictured above, is a Windows Phone-based smartphone that has been made from a block of ice that Nokia claims that it will ?reduce material costs and the environmental impact, too.? It seems that according to an internal Best Buy leak, it looks like the retailer has managed to get their hands on information regarding the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Verizon?s Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX and the HTC Rezound. Assuming the leak is to be believed, come 4th of April, the Droid RAZR and the RAZR MAXX will be receiving the highly anticipated Android 4.0 update, while the HTC Rezound will be seeing the update a couple of days later on the 6th of April. It also seems that there have been user reports that Motorola has emailed some of their users about a preview regarding ?new software?, and based on the timing of the update and this ?new software?, it seems very likely that they?re one and the same. In any case the 4th of April is only a couple of days away, so we will wait until then to see if the rumors pan out.

Add to myYahoo! The first such device I remember using was a Sunbeam Mixmaster and that was certainly more than fifty years ago. So how have such machines developed and evolved over that time scale, certainly they have a lot more tools.[...]

The human imagination knows no bounds, as evident by the Transformers theme park in China that was the brainchild of an artists, as evidenced by the image you see above. Located in Jiaxing City, China?s Zhejiang Province, 49-year-old artist Zhu Kefeng alongside his team took a whopping 10 years to construct huge metal robots using nothing but recycled iron and steel parts. The beginnings were humble – he started off with a realistic model of a car, followed by opening a studio he can call his own to develop more intricate sculptures. This resulted in him doing commission work for fans of his work, while large orders received the help of the masses after he set up a recycle bin for folks to donate discarded metal parts. (more…)

BMW has been churning out what they call the “ultimate driving machine” for some time already, and their latest effort is definitely worth looking into, assuming you have deep pockets, of course. The BMW i8 Spyder is a variation of the i8 coupe that debuted last year, and has taken a large step closer towards entering production – which means tycoons worldwide might soon be able to get their hands on one of these highly desirable rides in due time. Similar to the coupe in terms of performance, the i8 Spyder will be a plug-in through-the-road hybrid that boasts a 96 kW (131 horsepower) electric motor which will power the front axle, while a mid-mounted turbocharged three-cylinder gas engine churns out the power of 223 horses for the rear. Samsung might have thrown in the towel when it comes to updating the Galaxy S smartphone to run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but that does not mean that the homebrew community feel the same. No sir, as evident by what Cyanogenmod 9 offers – this latest alpha build for the Galaxy S has already been uploaded to the project’s servers, and do bear in mind that this is not official at all, but that does not mean it will not run. Built straight from Google’s source, it will feature different performance and stability improvements compared to the stock version. Since this is still in the alpha stage, do expect to meet up with your fair share of bugs and quirks, and for those who have the intestinal fortitude to give this a go, bear in mind that a backup of all your existing data is always the wise thing to do. The alpha build for the international Galaxy S i9000 can be downloaded here, while carrier-specific ROMS should be on their way soon.

Add to myYahoo!By David Ponce Or should we? We don’t know the first thing about fashion. But our eyes tell us that as intriguing as the Pic Nic Pants from design house Acquacalda can be, we’d be very distressed should we see anyone wearing them on the street. This is their rationale: “Fashion imposes forms to whom [...]
