The gigantic 70mm lens on these spy binoculars magnify objects between 20 and 140 times depending on the zoom setting you select. They're also bulky and huge and nothing like the zoom binoculars Luke used on Hoth to spot those pesky Imperial spy drones. The Force is strong with these binoculars however, as they're probably the most powerful money...

Add to myYahoo! The idea of a bag with a solar panel on it, to power your gadgets, is naturally super-appealing, but the prices can take the juice out of your motivation. So if you could simply take a £30 solar panel and laminate it beautifully to the outside of a bag you already have, would that help? Maybe the one you spilled coffee on and which could only be aesthetically enhanced by the addition of a large black oblong of plastic over the offending bit? While the Solar Bag DIY doesn't produce a bag viable for primary power (though it did charge an iPod video from empty), in 6 hours), it does provide convenient and portable power for that array of gadgets that otherwise lie in the dark, slowly draining through the bottom of your pocket. It works best (naturally) at the beach or swimming pool, where there's a lot of reflected light - so downtown office towers help too. If the DIY scene isn't your thing, Talk2MyShirt also offers their custom solar bags for $145. [Camille]

Nikon is showing off their wares here at IFA, with several new cameras added to their CoolPix range. First up, for the entry-level seekers, the L14 has the honour of supposedly having the longest battery life out of the vast barrel of 3x zoomer compact cams. Specs include a savoury 7.1-megapixel sensor, 23MB inbuilt memory (expandable by using SDHC memory cards), 2.4" LCD screen, and is available in black, or to please both genders, in blue and pink...

The latest in the does-anybody-really-know-what-time-it-is-yeah-does-anybody-really-care watch trend is the 900 Abacus watch from German designer Roy Schafer. Not only does it not have any numbers, restricting you to a very general sense of time, it only has one 'hand' - if it can be called that. The marker is a magnetic ball which bounces freely under the watch face and only flows over to indicate time if you're standing perfectly still, contemplating the mysteries of E=MC2. Water resistant to 30 meters. ?108.40. [Camille]

Add to myYahoo!I would like the Dane-Elec's Dog Tag Flash Drive a lot more if you could actually put your name on it, since the way it is it's simply a conceited flash drive with a strangely tacky motif. However, at the price, I suppose one can't expect much - at that price you could buy two and experiment on one with a hot nail to see if you can put your name on it after all. 1GB, $15. [Camille]
