Ever want to own a professional-grade medium-format camera, but can’t afford one? Well, aside from winning the lottery, you could always walk the path of Peter Johansson, and build you own. He’s been generous enough to document the whole deal, and it’s currently 80% done. If you start this project now, he’ll probably have finished and documented the whole project by the time you get to his current 80% point. If you do give it a try, drop us a comment and let us know how it’s going.

While it’s not the HTC HD2 that everybody is hankering for, it’s worth noting that the HTC Touch2 is now available in the UK, and you can get it for free on a £25 per month contract, which includes 1000 minutes and unlimited texts. Of course, you shouldn’t be surprised to know that you’ll need to agree to a 24-month contract, but that shouldn’t be too big a deal to you, right?

We all love Pac-Man, do doubt about that, but would you ever paint your whole car to a Pac-Man theme? Well, that’s what the owner of this 1996 Chevrolet Caprice did, as can be seen in this picture. If the paintjob didn’t make you drool, you really should check out pictures of the rims, where you can see a couple of Pac-Man pictures there too. Check it out.

If you’re living in Alfriston, England, and experienced the loss of your landline phone service, this report will certainly pique your interest. Apparently this issue is thanked to the antics of some thieves, who actually went to all the effort to steal a half-mile length of underground copper tubing, thus causing the loss of said landline phone service for some 800 local residents and businesses. By accessing the cable through manholes, they stole an estimated cost of $75,000 worth of cable. How would you feel if you woke up in the morning and the phone and Internet services were down?

Yes, it's that time of the year again (we can't believe it!). Soon, you will run around wondering what to get for your loved ones -probably at the last minute. We can help by suggesting the 10 greatest gifts (under $500) for this holiday season. They are called the “Uber10”. Please help us select an 11th gift by voting on an extended list (coming any day now).
The Uber10s will be unveiled in a private event in San Francisco on November 12, thanks to our Platinum Sponsor Dolby and Gold Sponsor Intel. Dolby will build a surround sound setup at the event venue to show us what the Dolby Surround Sound Experience is all about. You may be able to experience it for yourself, if the Dolby Truck stops by your town.
Check out the 2007 and 2008 Uber10 lists, This 2009 edition will be published at ubergizmo.com/uber10

With the iPhone slowly but surely eating into Nintendo's sales when it comes to the handheld gaming market, the Japanese giant will need to do something fast in order to stem the tide. iPhone users have the advantage of accessing 3G Internet regardless of where they are, subject to signal availability of course, but Nintendo DS owners are limited to just Wi-Fi. Nintendo bigwig Satoru Iwata is currently considering to throw in free 3G access to their next handheld, and this could be huge! After all, parents surely won't fork out more money for their kids' iPhone data plan, but free 3G with a DS sounds much more reasonable.

The PUYL device is an interesting one as it has a two-fold function - to work as a bicycle tire pump and as a headlight, depending on your current need. To sweeten the deal, while you pump up your bike's tires, the PUYL's battery will also recharge. Apparently, 20 seconds of pumping is more than enough to provide up to 45 minutes of track-illuminating LED power. Currently a prototype, we can't wait for the PUYL to hit the market - it will definitely perform well in terms of sales, that's for sure!

Who would've thought that the Lazy Susan would inspire the 360 Degree Rotating Laptop Cooler, where it is capable of fitting most laptops without missing a beat. Rubber feet enable easier spinning, while you can always add or remove pillars at the rear to keep the height according to your preference. The rotating part comes in handy especially when you have someone sitting across you whom you want to show off a bunch of photos or a recently shot video.
