Sony Bravias are Fine Arts

Sony Bravias are Fine Arts

Or so that's what Sony wants you to think. Some of its newest LCD TVs are touted to hit the UK market (only) in sizes ranging from 26" all the way to 40". The Bravia E4000, for instance, features a special Picture Frame Mode that will display up to half a dozen artistic masterpieces whenever the TV is turned off. All I can say is, this won't fool a thief at night, so the best remedy would be to get a really huge HDTV if you can afford it so that burglars won't be strong enough to cart it off due to the size and weight. Alternatively, you can settle for your favorite photos if you happen to suffer from a particularly bad case of Narcissus complex.

Wowwee Femisapien "Robot Girl"

Wowwee's latest robotic creation, the Femisapien has her own music video on YouTube. "Robot Girl" is the creation of Robert Oschler from RobotsRule.com and we have to admit we laughed more than once while watching this clever remake of "Barbie Girl." Femisapien is due out later this summer for $99, and is able to control all of your other...

AT&T Roadmap Leaked

AT&T Roadmap Leaked

Guess the folks at AT&T aren't too good at keeping secrets, as their roadmap for the rest of 2008 is available for all and sundry to drool over. The BlackBerry Curve 8320 and BlackBerry Bold will be out at the end of Q3, while the Samsung BlackJack III will be powered by Windows Mobile 6.1, a 528 MHz processor, and boast a 3 megapixel camera and aGPS among others. The Windows Mobile 6.1-powered Pantech Duo will also weigh in with a beefy 528MHz processor, GPS navigation and HSDPA connectivity. There is a Tilt II in the works as well, and the HTC Touch Pro. The handsets mentioned after the BlackBerries will be out by Q4. Have you started saving up yet?

Silverleaf Antimicrobial Wound Dressing

Silverleaf Antimicrobial Wound Dressing

The Antimicrobial Wound Dressing from Silverleaf is an electrically activated wound dressing, where proprietary material enables electric current to flow through the wet parts of the fabric.

CMB Antimicrobial Wound Dressing with PROSIT is a single layer dressing consisting of a polyester fabric layer containing biocompatible, proprietary formulas which are held in position on the polyester with a biocompatible binder. The polyester fabric is single ply and is made from multi-filament spun threads woven together. PROSIT activates and generates a voltage at the surface when moistened. When active, PROSIT prevents microbial penetration. Present device can be left on for 3 days. Other indications are currently being applied for.

Good to know just like in the computer world, you can zap infections away.

HTC Touch Diamond Blurred

HTC Touch Diamond Blurred

Trust leaked images and spyshots to be taken with a camera of extremely poor quality. Does this mean that all spyshots are meant to be blur? Imagine what would happen if the paparazzi actually employed the same methods when it comes to shooting celebrities - we gossip mongers would be up in arms! Anyhows, here is an image of the upcoming HTC Touch Diamond from Sprint. While the smartphone is already out in several other countries outside the good ol' US of A, it is nice to see it in the flesh to quash all fears of it being pulled out at the last minute.

Yinlips YDP-G70 PMP

Yinlips YDP-G70 PMP

Yinlips teases us with yet another portable media player - the YDP-G70. It comes in a clamshell form factor not unlike the Nintendo DS Lite, and features some pretty spiffy specifications such as :-

  • 2 megapixel camera
  • 3GP, MP4 and RMVB file format support
  • 32-bit games emulator
  • Integrated FM tuner
  • AV out
  • miniSD/MMC memory card slot
There is no word on pricing, but I'm curious to know just what kind of emulated games are available on this.

Swarovski Crystal Game Station & Necklace

Swarovski Crystal Game Station & Necklace

This concept sounds rather far-fetched, but if it could be realized, I think there are vast possibilities for it. The Swarovski Crystal Game Station & Necklace features an interactive game console with Bluetooth connectivity that looks somewhat like a clean cut crystal. The organic patterned-shape merges into an eight point star pattern at the centre of the device, and can be worn as a fashion statement on a ladies' night out. Alternatively, it can be plugged into the game station whenever you want to play, using it to exchange data with friends who have a similar Crystal Game Station. Whatever it is, the casual game approach would work best IMHO, and not epics like MGS4.

Upcoming Motorola C Series Handset

Upcoming Motorola C Series Handset

Motorola hasn't forgotten about the entry level market with this upcoming handset that is tipped to be released under the C-series banner. It will feature :-

  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE/3G
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • microSD memory card slot
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • SMS/MMS/E-Mail Message
  • A-GPS
A-GPS? I thought that was only available in more advanced cell phones. Ah well, good to see this extra bit thrown in then. No word on pricing or availability as at press time.

Sprint Airave being Readied

Sprint Airave being Readied

Sprint is prepping its Airave device for a July 15 release, where this Internet-connected unit doubles up as a router for Sprint cellular calls. All you need to do is hook the Airave up to your home broadband connection and all your Sprint calls will work over the Internet - great if you happen to stay in a home where there are dead spots all over. This convenience will cost you some money though - $30 for families or $15 for individuals. The Airave will only function in places where there is native coverage, so bringing it overseas isn't a good idea. Good thing the Airave is compatible with all Sprint handsets, and it is not only limited to voice calls but includes data and text messaging as well.

Carry and Go Briefcase BBQ

Carry and Go Briefcase BBQ

Summers and BBQs go together, which is why the Carry and Go Briefcase BBQ is such as adorable device to have. For £24.95, you will be able to tote your BBQ grill easily without having to go through too much hassle, and when open, it will be able to expand up to 48cm x 35cm which should be more than enough to flip burgers for a small family. Better make sure it is well cleaned before being carried home as whatever juices and sauces still left inside might seep out and ruin your car or suit.
