Technically speaking, the latest incarnation of Tickle Me Elmo, the Elmo TMX ("Tickle Me eXtreme") is a toy and not a gadget. But with the ability to collapse with laughter, thump the floor, roll over and then stand back up on it's own, the 10th anniversary version of the jiggiling, giggling toy is practically a self-actualized robot. This fact worries me a bit, because knowing how popular Elmo is (the article predicts a shortage of the toy come holiday time), this means a future in which an army of Elmo robots will soon hold our youth in sway. How long before the Hello Kitty robots see Elmo as a threat?
Cutest. Robot wars. Ever.
