Samsung has released its new optical disc drive known as TruDirect SE-S204S, enabling consumers to create DVDs as well as burn digital content through a PC minus the need for a hard drive. This sounds like the perfect accessory to have for those who want to create DVDs in record time from virtually any digital video device. Since it doesn't rely on any hard drive, the TruDirect SE-S204S does not have to deal with pre-mastering, multiplexing or hard-disk buffering, dramatically cutting down the time required to create a DVD. For example, it takes only an hour andfive minutes to create a one-hour video stream on a DVD, while an hour hard drive camcorder file requires just 30 minutes to create a DVD.
