LG's MFJM53 MP3 player has been quietly launched in the U.K. to provide an alternative to the iPod. This 8GB HDD-based MP3 player looks extremely sleek adn boasts a 1.77" touch-sensitive OLED screen in a brilliant 262k colors. This is mainly a Windows Media-based device that supports tracks with and without DRM, as well as MP3, WAV, and Ogg formats. Compatible with Windows 2000/XP only, the MFJM53 comes with a microphone, line-in port, and a built-in FM radio. It plays back MPEG4-encoded AVI files, displays JPEG and text files as well. Battery life is estimated at 30 hours for music playback, while video playback will only garner you 4 hours. Available in black and white color cases, the MFJM53 measures 10.1cm x 4.8cm x 1.4cm and weighs 88g. Pricing and availability details are unknown as at press time.
