Terrafugia Transition flying car receives exemption from FAA

The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) has given an exemption for the Terrafugia Transition flying car simply because it is 120lbs heavier to be categorized into the FAA's "light sport" definition. What is a light sport aircraft anyways? It is basically an aircraft which can be flown by pilots who possess a mere 20 hours of logged seat time. This 1,560lb mode of transportation has a top speed of 115mph while it is in the air, where upon landing, it can fold its wings and achieve a fuel economy of 30mpg on the highway. Would you be willing to fork out close to 200 grand for the Terrafugia Transition flying car when it hits the market sometime in 2011?
