Sony recalls 500,000 VAIO laptops due to potential overheating issues

Sony has issued a recall for over half a million of its VAIO laptops that are at risk of overheating, with the potential capability of causing burns in the most dire of situations. According to Sony, their heat-monitoring chips that are used in its VAIO F and C series of laptops which rolled out in January earlier this year has a chance of being defective, resulting them to overheat and warp physically. To date, Sony has received around 40 complaints concerning the overheating issue, where affected consumers can download a software fix to prevent a mini nuclear meltdown right on their laps, or call your local Sony representative to have your laptop brought in for reparation works. On the bright side, at least their PS3 console is starting to turn a profit...
