For those who are wondering just how does Microsoft's Kinect hardware works, it sure as heck ain't pixie dust. This $150 peripheral's capabilities have been scrutinized, where you get 57 degrees of horizontal and 43 degrees of vertical sight, complete with a 27 degree physical tilt that helps you remain active physically while gaming. As for its depth of view, just make sure you fall within its 4 feet to 11.5 feet range. Skeletal tracking can't do more than a couple of active players simultaneously, although it can keep its eye on up to half a dozen humanoid figures. Consumers don't really care too much on the nitty gritty of its specifications and technical capabilities though, as they stick to the tried and true mantra - "as long as it works".
