Micro Air Vehicles can perch on vertical surfaces

Micro Air Vehicles can perch on vertical surfaces

Mirko Kovac's Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs) comes with a couple of barbed legs, which enables it to fly on the wall. These legs will flip out to enable the lightweight, autonomous aircraft to dig into any surface while staying put, and could prove to be the missing link between old and the next generation of MAV behavior. Kovac has big dreams for his MAVs, hoping to use it for good as opposed to evil while working in a swarm formation. Imagine using these to 'perch themselves all over the rubble and destroyed walls, acting as a thousand pairs of eyes for the rescuers' in the event of an apocalyptic moment in mankind's history. Needless to say, the military would probably come knocking on Kovac's door anytime soon if they haven't done so already. To know more about his MAVs, why not enjoy the video in the extended post?
