The HTC HD2 sure is one amazing phone. If having an outdated version of Android on the phone isn’t enough, it looks like you can have Jelly Bean on it too. The folks over at XDA-Developers managed to port over Android 4.1 Jelly Bean onto the phone and it seems to be working fine albeit with some problems. Video playback or the camera isn’t working, and neither is USB mass storage. There are problems with the web browser, some apps not working and Google Now crashing but hey – it’s a start.
Considering how only 10% of Android devices are running on Ice Cream Sandwich, it’s a pretty big deal for this almost 3-year-old phone to be updated with the latest version of the operating system. It’s a long way from being polished, but if you’re keen on checking it out, just head over to XDA-developers for the files.By Ubergizmo.
