Roaming charges are right up there amongst Lost, baked beans and quadratic equations in things that make no sense. Why should you have to pay for people to leave you a voicemail or send you a text when you're in another country?
3 have gone some way to relieve this trauma, by scrapping their roaming charges if you're a UK customer visiting Ireland, Australia, Italy, Austria, Hong Kong, Sweden or Denmark. They've even made it so that you can use any free minutes you have on your contract in these countries, as well as no longer incurring charges if someone calls you. It might look like an odd assortment of countries, but in actual fact, it's the ones where 3 has a sister network.
3 cheers for 3.
