OS X Lion points towards future Retina Display in Macs

Word on the street has it that there are several updated user interface elements located in the latest OS X Lion version that points toward the possibility of Macs in the future which will have a higher resolution count – a large sized Retina Display, if you will. After all, if you are sharp enough to take note of your mouse pointer, then surely your eye would be able to tell that the resolution of the hovering icon in OS X 10.7.3 has been given a jump to HiDPI resolution – so that might translate to the possibility of a Retina Display-equipped Mac sometime down the road. For instance, the new mouse icons in OS X 10.7.3 can actually be blown up further to a far higher resolution without any loss in quality. (more…)
