NEC ups the ante for USB 3.0

NEC ups the ante for USB 3.0

While USB 3.0 is capable of hitting a theoretical maximum of 4.8Gbps where data transfer rates are concerned, NEC is unhappy with that and recently claimed that they are capable of touching the 14.8Gbps mark. This was made possible thanks to their R&D team that re-engineered some very technical aspects of signal transmission in order to expand the amount of data that can be successfully transmitted. It seems that both PCI Express and USB standards could take advantage of this newly established ceiling. Hmm, does this mean USB 3.1 is the winner this time round?
