Cameras on cellphones don't exactly offer the best quality pictures, but that situation will soon improve with new technology from Varioptic. This new lens from Varioptic utilize a technique known as electrowetting, exploiting the way water forms a rounded droplet on a surface and going flat when some voltage is applied to it. Varioptic claims the new lens if more reliable than mechanical alternatives, boasting a shorter distance focus and faster speed when compared to a mechanical lens. High end camera cellphones sporting 3 megapixel lenses and above are the perfect recipients of this new technology.
