Is an online lie-detector possible? The Japanese certainly think so, with the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications allocating 300 million yen (approximately $2.56 million) in its budget next year to develop a lie-detector that weeds out wrongful online information. The Ministry intends it to return search results according to their reliability, and informing you if certain links contain a whole lot of dubious information. The main obstacles would be tracking down reliable Web-based sources for all the information related to a search and developing an unerring accuracy level. Will the brains behind Google be able to help out in this collaboration?
