Flip phone designs might not be the most fashionable at the moment, but Motorola has filed for a patent application that just might help flip phones get back on the map. The patent calls for a design where the phone can present two and three dimensional images. The main display of the phone looks to be some form of a transparent display, and the keypad is obviously a virtual one. When the flip phone is closed, the image viewed through the cover of the phone will look like it’s in 3D. Yeah it does sound a little hocus pocus at the moment, but we’re sure the big M can work it out. If you’re a serious 3D fan, you can check out the full patent filing.
